Davis 4 star (6.0)
Nick Jacobs 4 star (5.8)
Simon 4 star ATH (5.8)

Jacobs could maybe be a 5.9, and Davis could be a 5 star, but those are what I am expecting.

I'll expect DJ Welter to commit soon (this week sometime) and I think he'll be a 5.7 3 star. (A lot of people will bitch about this rating across the boards).

Davis - high 4 (don't think he'll be solid. He'll jump around between now and Feb.)

Simon - high 3 (Just because the offense he plays in. If he were in a difference offense he'd be a 4

Worte - low 3?

Jacobs - Rivals250

I'll admit I am star gazer but I don't follow recruiting enough to know who some of these guys are let alone how good they might be.

For some of us the stars and ratings do actually help

what do you base 4*'s for Jacobs on? He has no film and ppl who've seen him say he's very raw

For some of us though, this is the only way to guide these players in the beginning.

True, but when you're a LSU/Bama/Florida/Georgia type team if you're taking a guy this early there is a really good chance that the player is quality and should help your team/fill a need. Just because these teams could weave through the process and get into the front door of the best players at any position in the country for the more part and don't need to just take guys because they ask. When you're Ole Miss or something, then star gazing should come into effect.

Measurables being a big part of it. Early offer, and a couple people on different boards that were impressed by him.

There really isnt anything major to go off other than those first two things mentioned.

Simon will make a 4 star as an ATH. His defensive highlights are just as good as offense. He was taken as a pure ATH, so that should get him to 4 star material. As purely a WR, I think he is a 5.7 3 star.

Are the players class of 2010 assigned stars based on how they do at the rivals combine?
