want to hear just for once that LSU got a big time commit because we offered him a big NIL package. I feel like our reputation is becoming don’t go to LSU if NIL is important to you, and it’s becoming that way for more and more big time recruits.

I'm fully convinced that if all things were equal, he would be a Tiger. It's hard to say no to all of that Texas money though.

It really seems as though LSU will offer top dollar, but Kelly will not get into a back and forth.

Well that's just categorically untrue, but keep repeating something some other lemming said.

I think a lot of people don’t understand what it means to say we don’t want kids who turn it into a bidding war versus “we aren’t willing to pay”

They’re not the same at all.

After what happened with Jacoby Matthew's, I don't blame Kelly one bit for that stance.

If a player makes an agreement to come if a threshold is met, but keeps listening to other programs and keeps coming back to the well for more and more, you have to draw the line at some point.

Many top tier coaches feel the same. They have a number they're comfortable with, and they might match a raise once, maaaaybe twice, but you just can't let your school be abused.

I know it’s probably not a popular opinion but I’d have concerns about a kids character if it becomes clear it’s only about a payday

Is that a kid who will be a leader and hang in when you have adversity or is that a kid who goes to social media to shite on his coaches and teammates?

It's likely an opinion many share with you but it's shortsighted. When a professional team signs a free agent for the most money, do you question their character and motives? Being paid for services is professional. Don't care if it has university or college attached to it. The line has always been, compensation means professional not amatuer. Time to leave the myth of amatuerism and it's stereotypes in the past. Put yourself in the position of the kid with skills that are sought after with money. What would most people try to do with that leverage? We can't hold teenagers(and the entourages) to a standard we ourselves wouldn't uphold can we? You can bet your arse LSU would take the most profitable offer. What's good for the goose.
