I'd be willing to bet there is not that big of a gap in the numbers, here's a few off the top of my head:

He said there was better top end talent. No way.

I agree. I dont know that Destrehan would have beaten Bastrop. I would have loved to see that game. The Batrop team the year before was even more sick...I believe that team and the Curtis team were the best in the nation.

thats funny

NLA football isnt what it used to be...no way they are pulling even "now".

ok dude. In LSU's last 4 signing classes (including the current one) there have been 17 signees from North La and 25 from South La. Think about the population difference between the two regions. And if you figure in the likely signees from this class the total comes out to about 22 North and 26 from the South.

Just a small sample size.

Of LSU's 22 starters on their 07 national title team

14 are from LA

12 are from South LA

Steltz
Taylor
Zenon
Beckwith
Jackson
Dorsey
Favorite
Pittman

Doucet
Hitt
Stewart
Johnson
Zinger

2 were from North LA:

Hester
Sanders(garbage)

That's not even getting to top backups like Trindon Holliday, Chad Jones, Jared and Chris Mitchell, Charles Alexander, Cutrera, Harry Coleman, Drave Nevis, Ryan Miller, Alem

All of those guys started games last year, except Harry Coleman and Alem.

There wasnt one other player from N.LA that started a game besides Hester and Sanders. I can't even think of one in the regular rotation actually.

How is the top end talent coming from North LA?

Seriously, reconsider what you are saying.

Got to go with the argument that players in the south have other things to do unlike the north. I know from my school that some of our best players left to go to other school because they didn't like our coach who is now gone thank god. Also the head coach of one of the other teams in our district was always bitching how there was more talent walking around in the halls than on the field which was pretty true.

Lester Earl, when I was talking about teams catching up to NELA , I wasnt talking about the catholic league teams, I was talking about the Lafayette area teams and LC teams. Refer to my post in this thread, NELA 5A schools ruled the roost for over 30+ years. Quell your hate and get over it. Bastrop would have whipped anyone in the state last year.

Last year, Calvary was better.

Evangel will beat Calvary this year.
