Should take 4-5 OL a year. Most difficult position to evaluate.

That's excessive a little, some years you'll need 5, some you only need 2-3.

We have 1 senior onthe OL and 2 junior starters, so even if both juniors go pro we'd only need 3 to replace the 3 we lose and already have 2 commits.

We need to throw scholarships to DL and LB this year, cant get enough moving forward. No depth there. Specifically at LB.

We need LB and def line. I wonder how much it helps or hurts with peveto coaching the LBs now?

Because you should take at least 2 WRs EVERY FRIGGIN YEAR

We already have 2 crazy man.

Look at the good WR haul we got last year. They're not really helping us this year. It takes time for these guys to develop.

They're not helping us? We have barely thrown the ball. Dupre dropped like one pass, that would have been incredible if he actually caught it, but was great on his few catches this year. Once Harris settles down, you'll see the WRs being used more. Right now it's been 3 WRs for the most part, Jeter, and Guice. They just haven't utilized them much, it's not a slight against the players themselves. Upchurch was always going to be an H-back type before you say something.

quote:

Chi Dupre for example, he still is not developed enough to fufill his potential. That's why you can't take a year off at any position group.

Of course Dupre isn't, he was hampered most of his true freshman year with a nagging injury, and has played 2 games as a sophomore where we haven't really thrown that much. Once they open up the passing game, all of these guys will be well used.

Linebackers look fine. He coached the linebackers previously. All american Ali Highsmith.

He's recruiting his arse off right now, so it helps.

FYI, saw Donavaughn Campbell out at the pre game festivities. He waited in line for the team to walk down the hill for about 30 minutes. Big dude. Coach O saw him and immediately went to speak with him.

I won't disagree that Dline and LB are most important. However not restocking 4 online this year would not be good. We have 2-3 leaving for the draft after this year.

Quote: they feel better about Manuel than Lawrence

I've never felt good about Lawrence or White (interesting that they hung together) but it has to be a good sign that they missed Bama's huge game vs Miss to be in Death Valley.

RLawrence is enjoying the process. He's smart and is getting everything he can out of the process. He is heading to LSU.

Being uncommited has many benefits that are within the rules. I'll give you my opinion on Lawrence. I think he's rated a little high. He has worked very hard and is very smart. Sometimes you see guys reach a level in high school because they are mature, hard working, and from a program that does a great job of developing players. He has done that. His strength is he had great lateral movement and an ability to stay on his feet and find the runner. Not the greatest power and quickness guy who will disrupt the backfield at the college level. I think he is an upper 4 star but not a 5 star. Just my opinion. I also remember telling people that Hootie Jones was not a top 50 player. Watched him many times and he lacked the aggressiveness that you see in a player like J. Adams. Now Hootie is 3rd string and has been passed by true freshmen.

I was never impressed by Hootie Jones in high school given the amount of hype. He just had a bunch of INTs thrown his way and he had good hands. I was not impressed by anything else. When I saw Jamal Adams training I was immediately impressed with his fluid hips, speed, and other defensive mechanics.. He swarmed to the ball on film. He tackled really well. I was glad to see Hootie go elsewhere and even more thrilled to see Jamal to come to LSU.

I only saw his last game against E. Jefferson, and he looked soft and timid.
