She’s built as shite too. Hopefully she kills it when she gets here. It did seem like focusing strictly on softball paid off for her this past year!

I know its 2022, its weird that they rank players but FloSoftball and Extra inning just ranked the top 2022 players, a lot of those players are playing multiple years up and many for varsity teams in HS. I'll post the LSU commits for anyone interested. I know a lot of people follow travel ball so they see a lot of these kids

Maci Bergeron, C | Diamond Sports Hotshots - Falterman #1

Maci was ranked the #1 player in the entire class. LSU has never signed the #1 player in the country before. Maci batted around .486 this past summer and hit 26 home runs! She has the best arm in the class easy of all the catchers. She chose LSU over Alabama, Oklahoma, UCLA and Texas A&M!

Alea Johnson, P | Birmingham Thunderbolts 04. #7

Alea is ranked the #2 pitcher in the country, with the chance of being the best as she continues to develop. She is already clocking in the mid 60's with the ability to change speeds well. The spin on her ball is one of the main reasons she has been unhittable at every level. She not only pitchers but she carries a big bat. She blasted double digit home runs this summer, many going over 250 + feet. She had offers from Top power 5 programs in the SEC and PAC 12 before she chose LSU early this winter.

Sydney Berzon, P | Fury Platinum 21’-22’ #12

Currently ranked the #3 pitcher in the class out of New York. She exploded onto the scene these last couple years, impressing at a lot of different camps and showcases. She was mowing down hitters 2-3 years older than her with ease. Her off speed is one of the best out there and her rise continues to be deadly. Sydney decided on LSU after the Auburn series this year, choosing LSU over Florida, Tennessee, Florida State and other schools.

Emma Strood, P | Diamond Sports Hotshots #16

Already 6 feet tall, Emma is one of the top pitchers and hitters in the country. She plays 1B when she isn't on the mound. She provides lot of power to the Diamond Sports Hotshots team, as she bats behind Maci Bergeron. Emma launched over 20 home runs last summer before winning a national title. What sets her apart from the rest of the pack in the circle is her ability to locate any pitch. She does not walk very many batters. Her change up had people falling over all summer. She currently is dealing with a minor injury but could work her way up into the top 10 eventually. One of the most sought out players in her class. Coaches and scouts all believe she will pitch and hit at the next level for a major program in the middle of the lineup.

LSU is currently ranked #2 in the country behind the Oregon ducks for this class. Having commits from the #1, #7, #12, and #16. Rankings certainly don't matter but its interesting, all have offers from the best out there (OU, Florida, Oregon, UCLA, Washington, FSU, Bama)

The #3 ranked prospect Kaila Pollard, who came in for an unofficial earlier this year chose Florida over LSU back in April.

I know a few of yall have kids who plays or seems them a lot. If y'all ever see them in travel ball, feel free to let us know how they are doing!

I've seen Emma and Maci play a couple times, they are studs, and physically are already built like kids 5 or 6 years older than them.

357 you are exciting us who follow softball. I just hope I live long enough to see this program in the finals one day.

Those you mention in 2022 I wish were here now. Impressive numbers for underclassmen.

This is fantastic and with 2 very good pitchers which will be needed. Doesn't existing squad have a few other pitchers that played other positions this year?

Shelbi Sunseri is a pitcher. Some kids pitched some in HS but not like Sunseri and Maribeth. In total we will have 4 pitchers next season unless we add a transfer.

All are very talented just need innings and experience to develop. All of them will be tested very early, we play in some big tournaments early next season.

I do know the nuns are not real tuned into athletics
funny you say that since I coach at an all girls Catholic school in Houston. Our school, St Agnes Academy, and St Pius X are both still run by the Dominican sisters and they are very supportive of sports. We only have two, our headmaster and our nurse, but they are regularly out at our games cheering us on. St Pius is where the QB Grant Gunnell who we are recruiting, goes to school as did Gary Kubiak.

I know this was off topic, but I thought the comment was interesting to answer.

Hey 18handicap do you know Clark’s stat line to end the year? It’s hard to get stuff on her HS team, I just know their record.

Also she was selected to the All American game this July!

Appreciate it

Seems like the pitching on her HS team isn't very good, they score a lot of runs but still lose a lot it seems.

I know this young ladies name isn't mentioned a lot but she is a commit for next years class, Anna Jones out of Lutheran South Academy had a phenomenal junior year this year. She also plays with the bombers in travel ball I think

Jones, Pleasants, and Ciara Briggs are all very good players

Jones is literally a perfect lead off hitter, she just puts the ball in play every time and is always on base

We played LSA in a playoff warm-up game this year. Tied 2-2 after 8 innings (We played everyone, they just played their starters).

Jones was 3 for 3 against us (We gave up 7 hits), with an RBI and 1 Stolen Base. Played CF and batted 3rd... She made a play that saved the game for them with the bases loaded. I was impressed with her.

As far a coaching at Mt. Carmel goes, there seems to be a lot of turnover in the different sports. I am not sure why this is so, but maybe someone can shed some light. It is a big Catholic Girl School and you'd think there would be incentive for someone to take over the athletic programs and stay the course. Being a Catholic school product all my elementary, middle and high school years, I do know the nuns are not real tuned into athletics. But, I am not sure there are still nuns "really" running the school, but do not know.

My daughters went to Mt Carmel and won state championships in different sports. The school gets boat loads of talent in every sport but the administration really does not put an emphasis on sports therefore they do not hire top notch coaches other than in volleyball.

It'll be interesting to see how Tidwell adjust to SEC competition. Not just her but everyone for that matter.

Praying Clark can transition quickly. Torina is really high on her and would love another big bat in the lineup.
