So who is our biggest recruiting competitor in Texas? Longhorns or Aggies?

A&M before the Jimbo firing debacle had some good Louisiana talent on board. Now looks like Texas Longhorns have been picking our pocket. Do not know much about Wardel Mack but he is committed to Texas and of course Manning. If we are able to keep the fence around Louisiana, we will always be competitive. Seems a Louisiana assistant coaching hire by these teams, parlays into them being able to poach Louisiana talent.

In the past 5 years - A&M. For the next 5 years - Texas.

It used to be A&M. Should be Texas going forward.
Texas joining the SEC isn't good for A&M at all imo.

Texas also because they may actually do something with the talent.

Honestly, coming to the SEC didn’t do anything for them either. They could’ve just as easily burned through $600M+ in the Big 12 and won nothing, too.

It helped them get the Texas players that want to play in the SEC & stay home. Now A&M has Texas to compete with in that regard.
A&M now has Oklahoma, Texas, LSU, & Arkansas that are close to them in the same conference. Same as it was last year, but they added 2 blue blood programs to the list.

For Texas talent it is Texas, for Louisiana talent it will probably still be A&M but I am not sure.

Texass
Texas A&M
Oklahoma
Ohio State
Alabama
Georgia
USC
Michigan
Oregon
FSU
Miami
Florida
all competing for the same pool of elite players. I don't think you can narrow it down to just one school because there will always be competition for any said elite player from other members of this list.
That said, Texass has the biggest instate recruiting advantage followed by the aTm boys, but there is hearty competition from outside schools for the creme de la creme.

It's the worst thing that could happen to them.
People seem to forget there was never a competition between a&m and UT when it came to recruiting. I grew up in Texas and unless your parents went to a&m, you were not adopting that team as your own.
a&m started to get more looks after they moved to the SEC and could pitch kids on coming to the best conference in all of CFB. Then NIL came in and they could pay more than anyone as well.
Aggie squandering this moment in time where they had the Conference pitch within the state and could pay players will never not be funny.
You thought they were irrelevant before? They're about to become Arkansas-South.

If their new coach doesn't pan out...it's going to be hilarious. They'll be around the bottom of the conference very fast if that's the case.
The only 4 teams that kind of suck right now are Arkansas, Mississippi State, Vandy, & South Carolina. Even Auburn & Kentucky should be decent. Florida should be good again after Sunbelt Billy is gone.
