Its easier to win at a program that is already built up for you than it is to build a program before winning.

I have no interest in this argument, I don't know anything about the guys and I really dont keep up with HS but I don't think you have a valid argument.

Also, as an "outsider" you appear to come off as if you have something against the guy. HS football coaches come a dime a dozen but "good" HS coaches do not.

People might say recruiting plays a big part of it, but not any coach has the ability or networking skills to do this either.

Central football coach Sid Edwards said of Johns. "We were worried that not being rated so high could hurt him but LSU's got a winner in likes of Jacob Hester, Craig Steltz and Matt Flynn

So why is that not ok, but when a young basketball player wants to be like Michael Jordan, Lebron James, etc., why is that ok? Why can't a young black basketball player want to be like Bird?

I'm not saying he's a douche for anything he's done at Redemptorist or while coaching. I called him that because of this comment he made.

Why would you say something like that? When's the last time you've heard a black safety get compared to a black quarterback or running back?

If you saw the tv interview, you would know what he was trying to say. It doesn't always come across the same in print.

It wasn't politically correct and I knew he'd catch heat from some people.

I've heard offensive players get compared to people at different offensive positions all the time. But never a defensive player compared to an offensive player.

It is funny that some calling another a douche actually has Bob Sagat as his Avatar. Nice touch.

Yes I've heard that, but that's not comparing them to another player, that's just saying they could play that position.

I've never heard anyone say this DB plays like that WR. That's what Edwards did just because everyone he named was white.

The three players he names all played a role on the team. You can say at times they were overlooked and was not really in the "spot light". They were leaders but might not have been the best athletes on the field.

Maybe he was talking about the role they played beyond the position they played.

I think the comparison made was trying to say Josh Johns has the heart of a champion. JMO

Are you really this dense or just trying to be an arse?

He was not comparing him to the position of these players. He was comparing him to their character and talent. It may or may not be true, but it is a common perception about white players.

Flynn and Steltz were very highly regarded players coming out of high school and both have legit NFL talent.

lets face it, white kids who play speed positions will always be behind the 8 ball as far as proving themselves.

thats just the bottom line. I dont see anything wrong with what he said.

Anyone who is capable of using the internet should be able to decipher what he was saying. You can disagree with it, but I don't understand how this is confusing some of you.
