Congrats on his decision

I guess Will Wade wasn't a big thing for him.

If only we could have convinced Dale Brown to come out of retirement :))

Some kids want to see actual results first and then there's the whole "living in his father's shadow".
He seemed like he wanted to blaze his own trail, which I respect.
Good luck to him.
WW will have us on the right track soon enough.

I think this is one of the biggest reasons he's avoiding coming here. The expectations he could never possibly meet.

LSU was never a possibility for the kid - looks like he always had his heart set on staying out west. That being said, good decision to stay away from the Ball Family Circus at UCLA. Smart move.

Yep.
That said, i'd be down for him to pull a Craig Victor around Christmas time.

Shareef O'Neal is a one and done player, some of you guys would've hated him too.

Can't blame him with the state of the LSU program right now.
It's going to take some time for Wade to build this thing back up.
Team needs a roster overhaul.

Craig Victor!!! Where is he nowadays?? I have no clue on what violation he committed but would he be able to get back on the team with the new coach

He most definitely is not. He's a very good player, but there's pretty much no chance he'll jump to the NBA after 1 season at Zona. He's a guy who will ride the bench for a year, maybe even 2 there getting limited minutes, then probably start as a junior/senior.

This is not a "bash the recruit comment" and I have said this even when he was considering LSU, but Shareef is not a superstar type player.
He is a solid player and I would love for LSU to have him, but he is not a program changer and immediate star.
I will be interested to see how he handles the high level of depth at Arizona, where he will likely be a backup for a couple of years.
Shaq appears to be a realist, so hopefully he plans for his son to work hard and earn a starting role down the road.

I think we all understand why he wouldn't come to LSU, though he should know he's a day one starter with this roster
I'm just glad he's not going to be in the SEC. It would have been "Kramer Robertson's mom" reminders on steroids

Seems like some one and done's make questionable decisions to leave because they're trying to provide for a family sooner rather than later. Obviously Shareef won't have to worry about that

Where did Shareef grow up?
LA?
LA?

We suck, have sucked, and don't have much coming back......that's why he won't come. Would you? He doesn't live here, all he knows is his dad came here.
If we were a solid program I truly believe he attends LSU. I'm betting Shaq told him to go elsewhere.
Once we changed coaches, it was too late.
