Parkview was not going to let Hilliard beat them. I thought Patterson's gameplan was spot on, to be honest. Despite all the turnovers and penalties, it really comes down to Patterson's inability to convert a 4th and 1 at the 15 with about 5 minutes left. Hilliard never even had a chance on the play because Parkview got so much penetration up front. I tip my hat to Parkview, they are very well coached. It was a really good game..could have went either way.

Wow, makes zero sense. Why do you give him the ball 30-40 times a game to get you to the Dome, then not give him anything once you make it? Why do coaches keep changing what they do once they get to the big game? I think a lot of coaches overthink things and end up costing themselves victories in attempts to outsmart the other coach.
pbs defense keying on him shut him down but gave QB lots of time to throw.... and opened up some routes.

rgot one thing, penalties killed us also, we did have a TD called back for holding plus other drives we got past the 50 were sidetracked by penalties
that hold is what sprung that run though...
and two no calls of holding on the 93 yard pass and... the PI calls that got yall down the field?

I guarantee that Parkview could have been called for PI all night and were lucky to get just two
apparently you don't know the rules very well..
the illegal substitution killed a drive and was spot on... I watched part of the game with a college db coach and he was raving about PBS' db technique on cutting off routes....
jacks got the breaks from many more calls than PBS did

how about on the parkview td pass where there were 2 men in motion at the time of the snap? there were calls and non calls through out the whole game that could have gone either way, just like there are in all games. all this bitching back and forth about penalties is taking away from what i thought was a great game that could have gone either way. the fact of the matter is that the game was decided on the 4th and 1 play with 6 minutes left. pbs did what it had to do on that play, and patterson didnt. as for those bitching about the number of carries that kenny got, what the hell do you expect? its obvious what the pbs game plan was, and that was to stop kenny. barry sanders could have been back there and the results wouldnt have been any better. you same people would have been bitching if kenny would have had 40 carries for 84 saying the coaches are stupid for having him carry the ball that many times. the problem with the people bashing the coaches is that you probably have only seen patterson play a handful of times over the years. you think they should pound it down someones throat just bc they have hilliard. the passing game gave them the best chance to win friday night, and thats what they went with. i guess my rant is over. i just think people are discounting how great of game that was and how well both teams played. all i saw on here last week is how pbs was going to blow the doors off of patterson and that surely wasnt the case.

And...so what?

godfather.. i never said pbs would win or blow the doors off - just that defense wins championships...
and yes hilliard was a beast at LB.... but on offense while he did not have a lot of carries - his presence and the people assigned to stop him - opened up a lot of lanes for jacks
rpc4lsu - my point is putting the ages don't matter if they are not correct...

LSU Baseball 06 reinforces what everyone thinks of Parkview Baptist, I state a fact for PHS and Congratulate PBS and your reply makes you sound like a private school a-hole. Can't even accept a congratulations with class.

PBS was not going to let Hilliard beat them.
Guillot said that in the paper himself. He also said he thought the way to beat PBS was to throw the ball...and that's what Patterson did and had lots of success. I think if Patterson ends up winning that game, all you people on here would be talking about how great of a gameplan Patterson had. Hilliard's a beast, but it doesn't matter how good you are if the other team has 7 or 8 in the box...especially against a D like Parkview's.
