Sage question about telling both staffs that he’s coming

In a normal situation, these things happen because these are 17-18 year old kids.
But, given that he has a relative on the LSU staff, would he lie to his relative just to relieve the heat?
Possibly. Just seems like a crappy thing to do to someone that is family.

Yes. Don't view it as lying though, view it as doing what he believes to be best for his family.

You sit across from your family and tell him that you would rather go to the most hated rival and compete directly against him I guess.

Sage never told our staff he was coming here. We thought he was in the bag and got lazy. Saban personally recruited sage and out-recruited us.
We got beat by Bama. Again.

What the frick is this supposed to mean? How could this have any affect on his family, positive or negative?
Pick your school and move on with your life.

Do you have teenagers ? Have they ever lied to you ? Did you ever lie to your parents ? Happens all the time as this ship has sailed. LSU coaches took it for granted that Ryan was a guaranteed signee because he’s a legacy and lives an hour away. Saban has been in Ryan’s ear 24/7 making him the #1 priority. LSU coaches got lazy and complacent; something Saban never does in recruiting and coaching
Edit: same thing happened to Texas with the Brockermeyer brothers. Their dad played at UT and an older brother Is currently a LB on this years team. The #1 ranked OT and #1 ranked C in the country who were raised to be Longhorns both committed to Saban

MB just recently had to delete his Insta account after losing a football game at Mizz. We all know the amount of dumbasses who have so little life of their own that they take the decisions of 17 and 18 year olds way too seriously.
He doesn't want his family to have to deal with those dumbasses.

This is 100% true. LSU thought he was in the bag and never wanted to press him for a commit. It left the door open and Saban personally made a goal to recruit him. I’m 100% sure it’s bama. I’ve seen this scene play out numerous times. I’d love to eat crow and be wrong but...

Saban tells kids to do this. It’s happened with every big time recruit he’s gotten out of the state. That’s why you see clueless insiders say “LSU feels good” about a recruit. It’s all bullshite. Sage is 100% a lock to Bama

And lying accomplishes what? He's committing publicly today.

You think that is exclusive to LSU? Have you seen the dumb shite Bama fans have done over the years?
The kids family doesn't live in Alabama and probably isn't worried about being harassed at the local Walmart by Bama fans over his decision.

Man, I honestly don't know. All I'm going on is what I've been told and read about kids who make these decisions and the fallout that often goes with those decision.
I suppose it all depends on who he is listening to.

Agreed. Why do you think Saban instructs kids to do this?

This whole episode will not end at noon. It will not end until his paperwork is received on signing day.

I doubt you're that close to the coaches to know for sure
can you absolutely say yes or no "I know"

There would be some pissed off people at my family gatherings if one of our own screwed over another family member (Kevin Faulk) and went to Alabama. Fireworks to say the least.
