Nobody who started in the NC championship is transferring in the spring unless they get passed up. The spring portal is usually slim pickings and it’ll be worse this year with teams having to spend their revenue share. Everyone in the SEC now has a pile of money that HAVE to use on players.

Recent court ruling has tentatively set that the portal is completely meaningless and any athlete can move schools at any time, as long as they don’t compete for 2 schools in the same season
The “spring portal” doesn’t mean anything. Guys are still going to move around if they are able to
And exactly to your point, if there’s more money that has to be thrown around, it’ll be thrown on players teams want from other teams too.
Will we get a big time safety transfer? I don’t know but there’s nothing really stopping a team from trying to do so until next season starts

Are you sure that's accurate at this time? You would think you would have other schools besides osu and ND with players jumping in the portal at this time if anybody can jump in it at anytime.
That's not the case though,it's only been teams that fit that 5 days after the bowl game criteria all offseason so far. I mean, if everyone could still enter then surely there would have been some late stragglers, from other schools that have been done playing for longer than 5 days ,still trying to enter.

I doubt we're getting anymore transfers in this window. Most likely coaching staff will see how spring practice goes and if they're not confident about any position group they'll go after spring transfers.
All this talk about safety but I still think Offensive Tackle is our biggest need.
