I think he really wants to get a big time recruit from LA, becasue it really gets under his skin that he has a lot of LA HS coaching contacts from being LSU's coach but has been shut out by Miles on every single effort to recruit a player that Miles really wants. He might as well get use to it, because there will be very few prospects that Miles recruits hard, that he will ever get. So far, he has been plain shut out.

It can't be the fact that Louisiana has good players. No, Saban must want them because of their state of origin!

I can agree with Saban wanting to start a pipeline and disagree to an extent about him wanting any LA player. I know he wants them, but I don't think he obsesses over them. That being said can we save conversations like this until after Feb 4th when they would actually be relevant?

Doesn't Miles want good players out of Alabama?

Right THATS LSU recruiting board, not the gumps sit around monitoring the LSU board ready to jump into action to defend bama or flame LSU at a seconds notice because they are delusional and obsessed with LSU board. whew

I don't sit around ready to defend Bama, I come here looking for good info on recruits and what's going on with ya'll, but it's pretty much the bash Saban board. If ya'll wanna bash him that's fine (altough kinda sad), but seems like ya'll would be more interested in what miles is doing than what saban is doing.

Amen. I've never understood why these Gumps spend time on our Board. The Bama Boards must really be crappy, or they have such empty lives that they have nothing else to do.

Your judging this recruiting board as us whining about Saban just because one guy makes one thread about it. Just ignore it.

Actually I would rather bash Bama fans that think we are not intitled to say anything negative about bama on our own fricking board. An sec rant was even started for people like the gumps, and they still insist on monitoring the LSU boards. Damn. If Saban is trying to sway verbals and LSU interests it damn sure is worth talking about, because it has an immediate impact on LSU NOW, and in the near future. How long would this be allowed to go on if it was the other way around and we were infesting the bama boards? I dont know because I stay off the bama boards, I figure they are intitled to say what they want on thier own board.

I'd vote to rename it the "Board some sad arse Bama fan named NATideFan stalks waiting for someone to type 'Saban.'"

Saban has to be worried. When he was in Louisiana he had the talent all to himself. Now both Auburn and Tennessee have put together recruiting juggernauts.

Tubby relinquished just about all the talent in Alabama to Bama while he worked Georgia and Florida. Those days are gone with this new crew. Saban is now surrounded by good recruiters in South Alabama in Auburn and North Alabama with the Vols. Bama will always get their share. But they won't have nearly the success LSU has in Louisiana.

meh, i dont think saban wants inroads into LA for it's top recruits anymore than meyer, richt, nutt, brown, and carrol do.

Top talent is top talent -- no matter where it's from the elite coaches are going to go after them.

To be completely fair, how many recruits has Miles gotten from bama since saban arrived? To the best of my knowledge. (1) O lineman that none of the state colleges recruited.

We all know saban loses assistant coaches every year because thay can't stand his obsession with 24 hour work that may get him a win against UAB, and his outburst at any moment at his players and his coaches. See Lance Thompson maybe his best recruiter.

To be completely fair Miles doesn't have the contacts in Alabama that Saban has in Louisiana. So Miles getting shut out in Alabama is not as bad as Saban getting shut out in Louisiana where he knows all the HS coaches and they all know him.

Do you even know why Miles pulled his scholarship. Obviously you don't. I respect Miles for doing that.

Saban already got a player Lsu wanted in Luther Davis. Miles pulled his scholarship to save face when he knew Davis was going to switch to Bama.
