Good depth, never hurts to pick up a 3 star PWO at a position we were recently thin on. Also has a decent offer list, so there might be something there.

Don’t see them getting to 85, he will probably get a scholarship if he looks decent this offseason. Kid is betting on himself.

Yep. 5-11, 180lb CB from Edna Karr.

Offer list includes Tenn, Oregon, Ole Miss, MS State. Michigan State, Kentucky, Florida State, Auburn, Arkansas, Nebraska.

Great pickup!

Wow, that's a pretty impressive offer list. This type of kid that grow up wanted to play at LSU and when the opportunity came, he jump at it.

Found Robinson's senior season HUDL tape.

Good coverage guy. Very quick. Looks like he's got good ball skills. He's a willing tackler, but not a particularly big hitter.

The downside? He's little. I doubt he's more than 5-10, 170. But that's what a weight room is for. If he's willing to be a true program player and do all the program player things, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he doesn't contribute before he's done here.

This could be what happens with NIL and the transfer portal. A lot of three talent will have a harder time getting to big schools. Nothing wrong with taking fliers on 2 or 3 star talent, Justin Jefferson.

Especially with what's likely to happen every year to teams like LSU with the portal, which is that kids who don't press for playing time in their first two years will generally move on and that'll mean you functionally don't have any scholarship limitations because you're always going to be below 85.

If you're going to be taking 35-40 players a year, then yeah - you'll probably take 8-10 transfers. But it's foreseeable that the big guys will take a lot of flyers on 3-star kids who make it known that they're willing to be patient and develop, because those are the kids you can count on to give you depth and ultimately be captains and 5th year senior leaders in the locker room, etc.

Especially at an LSU where every year you know there are Justin Jeffersons, Duke Rileys, Lloyd Cushenberrys and Russell Gages, not to mention Zy Alexanders and Greg Brookses. It isn't a question of whether there are unsung in-state players who are going to be terrific at the next level; it's a question of who they are.
