You're sick in the head if you think Wilson is close to Newton. Auburn was a two man team last year. No way in hell Wilson is going to carry the weight Newton did. You bought your championship, enjoy it. You'll soon be back at the bottom where you belong and maybe AU fans will come back to reality.

You realize we were one of the top 4 teams in the SEC based on record the past 10 years right?

Newton glorified your offense and made people look better than they were. Tell me this, why did basically the same offense get shutdown the season before during the second half? Because Malazhan runs a gimmick offense. You'll be calling for his head pretty soon now that he doesn't have all-world player like Newton to back his scheme up. Newton made your entire offense better and everyone around him better because defenses were so keyed in on him.
Fairley disrupted almost every play on the d-line. He was that dominant of a force and yet, your secondary was still absolutely terrible. When you have a d-line that disrupts plays as much as he did, it should make your secondary better. Like I said, a two man team and you'll be a 4-5 loss team this year. So, don't have expectations too high. That is why the media isn't giving you any respect.

Not really at all, Without Newton and Fairley Auburn is at minimum a 4 loss team last year.

Terrible argument. Malzahn's system has worked everywhere he's been. I didn't realize he's had Cam Newton his entire career. There's a reason he's been a hot commodity the past two off-seasons

Pretty fricking good when the two players that were the "entire team" aren't there anymore

4-5 losses is exactly my expectations

Well yeah, every team will lose a few more games without their two best players. That's why they're the best players

Why does that sound so fricking familiar.. Oh yeah, the same exact thing was said about Cam Newton
I think most people, at this time last year, knew Auburn would contend for the West. However, no one knew that Cam Newton would have the impact he had in just one lone season. I don't think you can compare the two. Plus, Auburn isn't bringing back tons of experience, as it was a year ago. It's exactly the opposite.

No matter where he goes, I think the rule is b.s. that allows a kid to transfer and play one year due to grad school. Joe Schad said he was treating his visit like a job interview

BTW, OP needs to change the thread title since Russell Wilson wasn't in Auburn today. Joe Schad was wrong yet again...

lolwut? Contender for what? They will contend for the 2/3/4 spot in the West at best, even with Wilson.
A contender for the west. Sure, they are still likely the 4th or 5th best team but Russell Wilson with Malzahn can't be discounted to make some games close.

No you're not. Your team is garbage as of right now. Garbage. The only certainty regarding where y'all sit in the West without Wilson is 5th. I'd take State over your club in a heartbeat.

I would go with six.
And when I said contender I use that term loosely. I don't think they're a contender other than in the West, and even that is a stretch. I'm simply saying they can't be discounted as I currently do at this point.

Because the theme of this thread is all for not if the visit dates aren't accurate? Schad, right or wrong on his dates isn't really important, in case that is tough for you to realize. Domt try to get this thrown out on a technicality!!

It's common for programs to occasionally take Jucos and/or transfers. Ours just turned out to be really good last year. Also, remember, when Chizik took over, we had very little depth anywhere so it makes sense to go after some Jucoos/transfers for depth purposes.
You also had very little support for Chizik when he was hired. Remember this?
