Sounds like a young Ryan Perriloux at East St John

Once again ignorance is abundant without restraint. People like you, that know very little about a person, is quick to pass judgment. Let me tell you, you could never be more wrong about RS. Next time, do a little more research before you put your foot directly in you pie hole.

He's telling the truth.

This kid has the goods... and players like him don't RS or ride the bench. He will play as much as a starter from day frickin' one.

NO WAY this kid is anything like Ryan Perriloux. RP had his head up his arse the whole time he was at LSU--he needed a dose or reality BIG TIME.

Russell Shepard has proven to be a class act in all facets--both on the field AND off. Everything I have read about him, I LIKE--he's a good kid who values TEAMWORK by trying to get other top prospects in purple and gold! Plus, he has a 3.3 GPA -- thats AWESOME!

In my opinion, I don't think RP would have wanted ANY other great guys on his team-- let alone actively recruit them. That way he could carry the WHOLE team on his way to winning 4 heismans.

RP isn't 1/4 of what RS IS and WILL BE for LSU.

The guy has talent, no doubt about that, but he won't look as good as he does in his highlights video when he gets to the next level.
Running the ball, yes he will. Imagine Percy Harvin with the ability to throw.

I wonder how some of you guys sound in a job interview.

Q: Why are you the best person for this position?
A: I can't respond for fear of sounding cocky.

This is a kid with the talent to play multiple positions who has made it clear that he is coming for a chance to compete and help this team win.

There is a difference between feeling confident that something is going to be handed to you and confident that you will work to make it happen. Shepard has shown (finishing school early, working with Jeff Blake) that he plans on working to earn everything he gets. I wouldn't want any player, particularly my quarterback, who wasn't confident that their preparation would put them in position for success if they were given the opportunity.

Are you serious?

Russell is about as far from Ryan as you can get.

He must have watched one of our games and noticed our stellar QB play. Little different than having Jamarcus and Flynn and saying you're going to start, we've got very little at the
QB position, it's wide open.

Unless Shepard can do back to back 8 balls of coke. Then no, he's not like Perriloux.

No he won't. Go back and look at RP's highlight videos. Granted, he looked really good at LSU, but in high school he was unbelievable. I'm always amazed at how fans think a HS kid is going to take the field as a true freshman and look like he did against HS players. It just won't happen. All of the starters at LSU have HS highlight videos that make you drool. But they are, for the most part, average players when they take the field against a team that is made up of the "pick of the litter".

Why is that a fail? I swear I consider you more of an idiot everytime you voice your opinions on TD. Perrilloux vs. Shepard is not a contest. Perrilloux was a very rare talent. However, shepard is good, but he ain't no ryan perrilloux.
