Baker reminds me of Tim Molton, hopefully just a bit more competitive.

you have to be cautious with these guys from Jefferson parish/orleans parish public schools.

I know nothing about Lewis, but a lot of those kids have grade problems. That could be what is holding up an offer (just speculating)

Wait, So Tulane that nomally does not offer kids that are even close to having grade issues can offer but LSU is being cautious?

Baker's positives and the reasons he got offered are, he has great hands, he's an outstanding and physical blocker(big plus for our staff) and he is big(6'3 about 185). That's the trifecta for the LSU staff. Speed isn't nearly as important as those 3 things.

Agree partly about the comparison to Molton with one caveat, Molton had enormous potential. He was the best wr talent in that class pretty easily but he just couldn't(or wouldn't) compete.

I could see Lewis being a very late offer or a camp exploding offer but things aren't looking promising considering the numbers at other positions. I have a hard time seeing 4 wrs in the class and if there are 4 I don't think Lewis would be the 4th. In that case it would be a can't miss type guy or Juco guy. Hopefully I'm wrong bec, ause I really like Lewis.

It's more like Tulane is in position where he is their top target whether his grades are bad or not. Get on him early so he'll feel loved. Cant hurt.

Whereas He might be the 5th WR on LSU's board. and they can afford to not fool around with his academics (think dez bryant)

I see your point. And for emphasis, I say this: as big a fan of Lewis' ability as I am, he's nowhere near Dez Bryant's talent.

I just thought of this, but if Lewis is from Marrero, should be at West Jeff? Wouldn't Ehret be more appropriate? I know if Hank Tierney was at Shaw he'd be there, but that's beside the point.

Ronald Lewis is a great dude, still know there's a huge chance he'll be here fall '13......very unselfish teammate

He'll be fully qualified, he knows what is at stake

That is good to hear. I understand that he actually lived in Ft. Worth for about 8 years so I am hoping that will encourage him to come out to visit TCU. I heard that Claiborne was impressed with his recent TCU visit and suspect Lewis may feel the same way if he has not seen the campus in a few years.
