Scout has Flowers as the #108 WR in the country. Here are snippets from their evaluation.
Areas of Improvement: Quickness off the Line and Speed
Then just below all of that
That's a solid evaluation if you ask me.
Areas of Improvement: Quickness off the Line and Speed
quote:
Flowers does a lot of the little things well at wide receiver. He catches the ball well, he uses his length to his advantage, he runs good routes, and he is very consistent. He needs to improve his down field speed, his quickness off the ball, and getting better separation. He is a possession type of receiver, but a good one. - Chad Simmons
Then just below all of that
quote:
Hakeem is also a track star and he shows that speed on the football field as well, especially considering his long stride and top end speed.
That's a solid evaluation if you ask me.

I read the same thing as well, which is why I figured they completely missed on him. Mainly due to the fact that they rip him on something, then praise him for the exact same thing.

Flowers is weird. Coming into the year he was getting potential 5 star talk.
We were after him. Then Billy went and watched him and said thanks but no thanks.

I'll take Graham Stewart. Lb. Florida

Nice pick. Was seriously gonna pick him but thought he was going to be available next round.

He was a guy I really liked well before signing day. He was committed to Boston College, but switched to Florida. Not sure how he fits in with all of the LBer talent over there, but with BC, he would have been dynamite. Him playing with Kuechly and Pierre-Louis would have been nice.
BTW, it you haven't heard of Luke Kuechly, LB Boston College,

Hell, I'm drunk enough. I'll take a chance on Tobias Singleton. I think he gets probation and ends up somewhere. I'm pretty sure he's a talented WR.

Well, I nearly took this guy last pick, and I'm glad I opted to go with his teammate, since he was obviously coveted.
OBUDan selects:
Ramik Wilson
Herrera is the less athletically gifted, more run and gun, instinctual type of backer. His future teammate Ramik Wilson is more of the uber athletic, use my speed to run wild and make plays type. At 6'3, 225, he's got tremendous size already and may even grow into an OLB in the 3-4 scheme for Georgia. He's athletic, tough relentless... the attributes i love to see from my LB core.
With this edition I still have the flexibility to go 3-4 or 4-3.
3-4 would put Barr as a DE, French and Drew as OLBs and Wilson/Herrera as ILBs.
If I go 4-3, I can put Drew down in the dirt (which I think is his best fit), French also, as a 4-3 end, and Barr slides inside as a penetrating/disruptive DT (which suits his game). In that case, Wilson is a SLB and Herrera looks more like a MLB or WLB.
Advice?

Okay so I chooe Fulse and Brandon Clemons and the picks weren't updated on the first page but now Fonz has Clemons? I selected on page 51.

Crap! That slipped through the cracks. I am freezing the draft until Fonz can pick over to replace Clemons. Sorry for the confusion.

Aba I've been meaning to ask, what was up with the Bubba Starling pick? He's got about a 2% chance of ever stepping on campus.

I would say that's generous.

Gaah, I was wondering why Clemons wasn't picked yet... Dammit. Some players that I would have chosen instead, such as Graham Stewart and Ramik Wilson also have been taken.

Pasty wrote the last comment from me in here, but I'm not sure how I feel about all of this.
On the one hand, Aba made his pick before you, and it should have been locked.
On the other hand, Aba has been consistently late on every single pick and it's getting obnoxious. It's a pain in the arse (particularly for two people updating independently) to know exactly what is going on all the time. I get confused all the time when I get in and someone is on the clock and the last post is their pick, but it turns out they were late on their first pick and they are actually back on the clock again (happened this morning).
So I dunno what the proper resolution is. I think it's my fault that Clemons wasn't marked off on the list. But it sucks that about 10 picks have gone off since your last pick and you've lost guys you otherwise would have had.
I know it's all in fun and all... and I'm not trying to be a dick. It's just frustrating when someone doesn't show up until sometimes 24 hours after their pick... multiple times.
Especially when both Pasty and I have made ourselves more than available to everyone... emails, texts whatever. The majority of you do a great job of being available or responding ASAP after we prompt you, but we laid out pretty clear that if you weren't going to put in the time to be checking up on everything, the time to be dedicated to the lengthy commitment... then just don't participate.

I think the only real solution would be adding Dee Hart to my team.
