The deleted comment compared my 4 yr old kid's crazy obsession with the Star Wars movies, which we watched all of last wk to how I reacted to my first taste of the ladies..........Poor taste without a doubt.

21. Collin Keoshian, MLB, BYU
22. Trevor Simien, QB, Northwestern
My quarterback decision basically came down to an arm strength vs. accuracy battle. Taylor Graham said something in an interview that threw up a red flag. Tyler Smith has the arm, but I wasn't sure about the intangibles. So I drafted based on the Bill Walsh philosophy: intelligence and accuracy. Simien has that plus a quick release plus the intangibles. He needs work on his feet and arm strength though.
QB Trevor Simien Northwestern
RB Giovanni Bernard North Carolina
WR Terrell Reese Utah
WR Salath Williams Pittsburgh
WR Armand Williams Louisiana State
TE De'ron Flood Purdue
OT Kevin Schloemer Cincinnati
OG Nick Demien Missouri
OC Brandon Vitabile Northwestern
OG Christian Lombard Notre Dame
OT Arie Kouandijo Alabama
DE Reggie Wilson Texas
DT Garrison Smith Georgia
DT Mana Tuivailala Oregon State
DE BJ Butler Louisville
LB Aaron Franklin Oklahoma
LB Collin Keoshian Brigham Young
LB Tyrone Cornelius Miami
CB Cullen Christian Michigan
FS Nick Dew Virginia Tech
SS Nick Perry Alabama
CB Terrence Mitchell South Florida
4 SEC
4 BIG EAST
3 BIG 10
3 BIG 12
3 ACC
2 PAC 10
2 MOUNTAIN WEST
1 INDEPENDENT
This was a fun experiment. Thanks for the patience, Dan.

Michael Carr - CB (Mississippi St.)
6'1, 195
4.4 40yd
Carr is an extremely talented football player that can be an asset on either side of the ball. He has excellent ball skills and very good hands.
In 2009, he had 961 yards and 18 touchdowns on 42 catches. He Led his team to the 5A state title, was named 1st team All-State by the Clarion Ledger, was named a finalist for Mississippi's Mr. Football, and was named to the Clarion Ledger's Dandy Dozen list.
I really wanted Shaq Richardson of UCLA, a true 6'2 corner, but he was just taken. My final decision was between Tevin McDonald of UCLA and Carr. The huge discrepancy in McDonald's rankings, 20th-72nd, plus his lack of offers pushed me to Carr. This keeps in line with my drafting vision, which was to generally stay in the South if everything else was equal.
He caps off what I think was a great class for me. I was able to select the guys I really wanted and used a method that allowed me to select guys that I really liked at each position, rather than picking the guys I really liked in the first 4-5 rounds and then just picking the highest rated player available the rest of the way out.
While I really like my team, I will definitely take advantage of the Supplemental rounds. There are a few guys I have my eye on that could really add to my team.
Offense: Spread/Pro
QB – Robert Bolden - Penn St. (6'4, 205)
RB – Charles Perkins - Georgia Tech (6'0, 195)
RB/Slot – DJ Morgan - USC (5'11, 175)

Defense: 3-4
RE - Kaleb Eulls - Mississippi St. (6'4, 255)

I'm not sure if I'll pick anyone since it's pick one leave one rules. I'll participate if it's mandatory, but if it's optional I'd like to see what happens to the team that I drafted. Scrubs included.

Not mandatory at all. Totally up to your discretion.

Now that we all have a QB, I wanted to ask why you guys think James Franklin (Missouri) wasn't selected.
Rivals has him as:
#152 overall
#4 Dual threat QB
#4 Most accurate
#5 Best scrambler
I almost took him instead of Terrance Broadway. My guess is b/c he had next to no offers. He committed real early on (March 09).
Just curious.

I find his recruitment very confusing. The only other offer this kid got was from Baylor.
Not sure what Mizzou recruited him to play. They have good depth at QB and picked up a couple of solid WRs.
Really strange that this kid didn't at least get a few offers from somewhere.

Although their offense has been productive lately, I wanted a QB that was going to give me numbers. I looked at Broadway in UH's offense, but basicly took a talented QB that June Jones will be coaching. Also, my guy had legit interest from some major schools as well and I like his film.
Just curious: Does anyone know how many FCS players were taken in this draft?

If we were doing it again, I would suggest that only BCS school commitments be taken.
It would make their numbers more comparable.

Honestly, I really don't like that idea at all Flask. I think sometimes it's about digging deeper and finding "other" guys. Those that take the initiative to look outside the rivals 250 and find guys that they think will succeed in college is part of the draft I think.
The NFL draft isn't limited to BCS schools. I think inevitably, if you choose a guy that doesn't attend a BCS conference then goes to the NFL, that's pretty awesome if you can get that done.
Just my two cents. I like how we have done it. I almost took a guy from Arkansas State because I thought he was a good athlete and I thought he would do well there.

Rivals gives me 2 5-star, 13 4-star and 6 3-star.
Scout gives me 1 5-star, 13 4-star and 7 3-star.
ESPN gives me 1 5-star, 14 4-star and 6 3-star. They dont have a ranking for Cam Newton.
Holland, Kitchens and Werner are the players on my roster who change rankings between the recruiting services. Newton was given 5 stars by Rivals and 4 stars by Scout.
Offensively, I only have 2 players who are 3 star and that is Sonaboy. The rest are all 4 star and led by a 5 star qb, depending on which service you believe. I am very surprised Dudchock is a 3 star. I think when he committed to Vandy he was a 4 star.
Defensively, I do have 3 star kids but Kitchens, Holland and Werner are all underrated and it depends which service you go by. Plus my defense is a 3-4 and my lineman are all guys who are guys who project in that defense. Ivory was a guy I had wanted at the very beginning and in my mind is the best NT in the mock draft. He just happens to be a 3 star. Belue is a 3 star, but has 4.3 speed and was signed by Nick Saban. If you play corner and Nick Saban wants you, then I think you are VERY underrated if you are a 3 star.
In conclusion, I am very happy with my roster. I took guys who were highly ranked, but fit my system. Some of you guys didnt do a very good job of finding players that fit a system. JMO.

i am ok with guys out of the bcs as long as there is a hefty point total for being drafted. If i pick someone who starts at LSU as much as someone who starts at Arky St. than there should be some sort of premium on the guy from LSU esp. if he gets drafted.
