Apologies. Typed it out fast, didn't fully research. You are right, Orgeron was at Ole Miss followed by a short stint with the Saints in 07-08.

Craziest thing I saw was Kenny Hilliard was tweeting that he and Joe were talking just a few hours before the incident. Talking about getting togther to do a youth football camp. Crazy how sad and abrupt this world can be.

Prayers extended to Joe's family and friends. This was indeed tragic.

I shall never forget how there were so many Recruiting Board threads about McKnight, leading up to his decision revealed on NSD to attend USC.

Him rejecting LSU was worse than any of the recent defections.

It was equivalent to Fournette going out of state. Much bigger than Landon Collins.

And I heard several times that Joe was really homesick at USC and wanted to transfer to LSU. Anyone else hear this? Something to consider (Dylan Moses). I am not comparing Joe and Dylan other than them both being decade type players. Joe did not have the career I think anyone thought he would based on his high school play. Young kids of 18 19 yo still greatly benefit from that large support group of family and friends that only home can provide. These kids have so much pressure on them and they need to be around folks who have known them from the beginning and love them no matter what. They got their whole lives to get out and spread their wings. I am sorry I know we are remembering Joe but I can't help but think things might have gone differently for him if he had the support group he needed during those late teenage years.

Dude was from my neighborhood. He was a superstar around here. I use to give him such a hard time about picking USC over LSU he put a USC sticker on my jeep one day. He use to say he read the rant and we were some crazy arse fans. (In a good way). What a senseless act of violence.
It's a very sad situation. I hope they find justice for his family.
RIP Joe!

Geaux USC!

Damn.. that's so sad. Eyewitness said Joe was apologizing too.

Eyewitness also said the man got out of his vehicle and was standing over him when he shot, which was determined not to be true at all.

As sad as this truly is, let's wait for all of the facts before we pass any judgment on anyone.
