Our share of the A&M and Mizzou exit fees have been burning a hole in our pockets...
now is as good a time as any to use it.

What's good for the goose... And I'm not kidding. Let their fans buy that bs that Mack sells. I personally have no issue with getting players by illicit means but at least don't be on a high horse while doing it.

We buy it because Mack has never allowed Texas to be placed on probation.

Can someone kindly give me a thorough rundown of the situation. Is LSU out of the question now? What has happened since he decomitted from UT? Tia

He has visited A&M and Texas since his decommit to visit with both the football and bball coaches. Says he wants to make sure that Texas is truly #1
on his list after taking another look at everything. Definitely wants to ensure that the basketball angle is part of his recruitment.

An LSU visit is said to be in the works and I have no reason to think they won't be in it until the end.

It's all about the money right now for him.

If that was the case, then Mack and Co. wouldn't still be recruiting him to Texas...and they haven't stopped.

ATX that's laughable you can't possible believe Texas is squeaky clean. His family is after the money that happens with AAU coaches especially. I am by no means saying that LSU is close to clean btw.

And to add to my point

"I went with my AAU coach to A&M today," Seals-Jones said.

I don't buy that anyone in collegiate athletics is totally squeaky clean. What you are describing is just blatantly dirty recruiting on a Cam Newton level(allegedly) and that is by no means laughable to think that Texas wouldn't be a part of those dealings. I have seen numerous examples of high caliber recruits bypass Texas because Mack did not allow dirty recruiting to go down while he's the HC.

Hell, just about any kid that was too close to Willie Lyles, Baron Flenory or other questionable influences Mack has stayed away from...Texas helped to report Willie Lyles nonsense to the NCAA. 32.441. ILLEGAL RECRUITMENT OF AN ATHLETE is in the Texas Penal Code with penalties ranging from a misdemeanor to a 1st degree felony for mess like what you are describing is going down in public with this RSJ campus tour.

So, is his family after money or the family is trying to get his AAU coach paid??

C'mon, man

So basically he just put UT back in the running. That's what all the commotion is about?

Fwiw , I had Mack Brown on a flight that I was working about 2 years ago, and he is a great guy. Very friendly and high fives and handshakes for all the kids and anyone else that wanted one. Total class act. I am lsu through and through but if my son was good enough to play at this level and he didn't go to LSU, then I would feel good about him being coached and mentored by Mack. He is a class act, and I've had several other coaches on board in the past, and I can't say the same about them

if we get RSJ and derrick griffin makes it in, this will be the best receiver class we've ever signed, add gonzalez, probably samples, probably parker, maybe larue. although if we get the first 5 we'll probably shut it down

I think they're related but not uncle. Cousins or something like that. I've read (on the internet so must be true) that he does have an uncle that favors LSU but who knows.

Orange Blood did you hear Ketch's show? I heard he had some insight.

From yesterday? No - but I think he was just saying that RSJ visited Austin, met with Rick Barnes and Mack, things went well, blah blah. Nothing else.

I take everything Ketch says with a bucket of salt (doesn't stop me from listening to him and Chip brown's shown in the morning though ). I don't think his "insight" was much this time.

I can see this dragging for a while.....and frankly, I don't know why any 5* star guy like RSJ ever commits this early. Seems to make more sense to take a few official visits, see how the season goes etc. It's not like Texas, LSU, A&M etc are ever going to say "thanks but no thanks." Each program will find a way to make it work.

OK - I thought of one good reason, I suppose if he's verbally committed and he has a bad injury his senior year he'd still get the scholly.
