You can give it your best shot but if it doesn’t work out than hit the portal. The way college football is setup now you don’t necessarily have to have a high school quarterback in every class now.

If Manning's last name was Smith he wouldn't be in the top 100.

Because in '23 those might be the only two scholarship QBs on the roster. Would be hard to get a transfer in with those two already here.

But we already knew 2 of those 3 were never coming to lsu so this year really isn't that much different than next year in terms of LA QB options for lsu.

With regards to 2024 it's still very early. kids flying under the radar right now will rise and others may fall in camps. With the rise of the portal, nil, and transfer rules I wouldn't sweat it too much.

I don't know who we will end up with but I can assure you Kelly knows how to properly manage the roster, unlike O.

People are only obsessed because of his family. He's also only rated #1 because of his family. Arch isn't even a top 100 player.

what is that supposed to mean? For one, he's a damn good QB that will be better than Manning in college. Secondly, the kid is right outside the top 10 QBs in the rankings. At the very least if he decides to stay 3 years he would be the starter here after Walker Howard unless we pull a 5 star out our hat next year with Lagway.

Why do you say this. Everything being said on here is the exact opposite of this statement.

Because kids with tier 1-2 offers doesn’t go to a tier 4 school

So we're supposed to ignore the fact that he would get more immediate playing time at Purdue, he values education as well as football, Purdue is known for putting out good NFL qbs, and their HC is a great QB coach?

You just made a general statement and applied it to a kid that doesn't really fit that mold. Without even having to research Ed Oliver comes to mind in terms of top recruits going to small schools.

ETA: oh yeah and the top recruit in the country went to Jacksonville state last year so there's that.

Are you a Purdue fan? I’m trying to figure out why you’re blinded by this

Ed Oliver had family ties to Houston. Everyone knows that’s why he went there

Purdue hasn’t put out an nfl QB in 13 years.

I like jeff brohm, but they’ve also only had two winning seasons since then. The weather sucks & it’s a tier 4 or 5 football school. He won’t stick unless he has a poor Sr year.

I poke holes in your theory then I must not be an lsu fan right??? Ignore the fact the kid values education and Brohm being a great qb coach. Again you made a general statement for a kid that doesn't appear to fit that mold. Even though literally all the information and facts we have about him say he is locked in to Purdue

Brether, he was visiting Florida St like last week lol.

If you’ve followed recruiting at all you know how this ends.

OMG NOT A VISIT!! He visited Purdue, again, a week before that.

Except I gave you exceptions to that rule and gave you a detailed response on why he seems to be an exception, but yet all you can do is try to say I'm not an lsu fan or don't know recruiting to prop up your general reasoning. Solid analysis of the kid.

It’s the same case as every kid that ends up flipping. They love the school, until they don’t.

For every 1 example you have there are 10 that contrast that. I can’t believe we are actually having this discussion right now. This is my last post to you on this until he flips, then I’ll bump this for your enjoyment.

And I didn’t say you weren’t an lsu fan. I asked you if you were a Purdue fan?

Please do. I assume you will also bump it if he signs to Purdue to eat your crow right???

Eta: I also understand he could flip to another school and that statistically the odds are in your favor. However, i highly doubt it will be lsu. He wont get nearly the playing time here as purdue.

I take exception to the fact you seem to ignore all of the facts we have available at this time pointing to him sticking just because historically the odds are in your favor. It's a lazy argument you're making and you're ignoring everything the kid has said and done thus far in his recruitment. Along with the fact he will play much quicker under a great qb coach at Purdue.

If we miss on Collins, To be honest, Lsu needs to grab a smart AF 3 star qb, with a 5.0 gpa, and call it a day
Pretty Talented, Smart, Prob. a great Kid, Can learn any system and play quickly if needed, Go grab him, wherever he is, Collins may flip, but someone may Bolt sooner are later, At least, Hopefully the 3 star will stick around and get the education and maybe a lil band aid playing time when needed to hold it down

Will Ricky Collins flip from Purdue to LSU?

Not unless he is okay with waiting behind Nuss and Howard until 2027 his fifth redshirt senior season to have his first opportunity to start, provided he, of course, wins the job, and with only that one year to play.

However, if Collins wants to see the field sooner, then I highly doubt he'll flip to LSU. He may flip to somewhere else but wherever he flips it won't be to LSU.

Brian Kelly didn't lose shite.

If you had to wait until your fifth redshirt senior year in 2027 just to have an opportunity to start, provided you win the job, at the earliest and with only that one year to play, would you commit to play for LSU during this 2023 recruiting cycle? Hell no, you wouldn't! So stop insinuating that Brian Kelly can't recruit.

A bit dramatic suggesting Kelly “Lost” these guys

Kelly didn't lose shite. Only complete and utter morons are stupid enough to believe LSU can get a QB in this current 2023 cycle.

It can if they are willing to wait until their fifth redshirt senior year in 2027 to have their first opportunity to play, provided they win the job, and with only that one year remaining to play.

Kelly didn't miss on any QBs and only ignoramuses blame Kelly for not getting a QB in this 2023 recruiting cycle. As the situation is preventing any QBs from committing to LSU in this current 2023 recruiting cycle. Figure it out!
