Will Ricks beat out the field of talent we already have at corner to start along side Stingley? Our coaches seem to be very high on some of the freshman now.

I think with the size of Stingley and Ricks, they will both be safety-like in run defense - which allows for another cover corner guy on the field with them, without diminishing our run defense.

I expect Stingley, Ricks, and Flott to be on the field together on every snap.

Jay Ward also looked good when he spelled Fulton against Florida -- especially near the goal line.

You’re absolutely right. Go back and watch what he does on that trick play Florida ran late in the 4th quarter. He identifies the play extremely quick and gets in the backfield almost instantly while wrapping up Perine causing him to get rid of the ball early, ultimately leading to an incomplete pass. That’s so impressive for a freshman that hasn’t had as much game time as some of the others like Stingley and Flott.

Stingley will never ever play safety. You don't take a guy with his speed and cover skills, who can shut down one side of the field and put him at safety.

Jay Ward played great against Fla. Came up to make a play on Perine on that half back throw!

It’s gonna be tough to keep him off the field. Not knocking any of our current guys but Ricks has incredible ball skills, he’s the #1 DB in the country for a reason.

Jay wards extremely physical.
Flott is extremely fast with fluid hips,
Raydar has all the physical tools in the world but he’s never played the position

Elias Ricks has the best balls skills of a DB that I’ve ever seen. He’s going to be extremely hard to keep off the field

Can Ricks play nickel? With Stingley and Flott/Ward on the outside.

Then maybe they move Vincent to free safety and Stevens at strong.
Oh yea, Todd Harris is back next season

You never know how these guys are until the get on campus but Elias is 6’2” 192

His body is more ready for college level than Flott or Wards.

I think Ricks starts on the outside and Flott in the slot.

say that 10x fast

Here’s Ricks at LSUs camp. The kid is built. And he’s been at IMG all year that runs a college like weight training program.
