It sounds to me like His Dad is sending a message to LSU coaches possibly wanting a promise of playing time. Could just be wishful thinking on my part but its the only reason I can see him saying these things today. Example "LSU is not completely out of it"

coaches lie and tell kids they will be the #1 guy and bull shite like that all the time. saban is prob the worst at it. its how recruiting goes.

Honestly, I don't think Saban or Miles do this. There might be instances, of course, that I don't know about. But, I haven't heard of any cases or seen anything to make me think differently. On the other hand, the recruiting board can change so dramatically, day to day. It isn't hard to imagine a situation where coaches are honest with the recruits and their families, but then the situation changes, and the recruits (usually families) feel mislead. E.g., see Rob Lane case.

Let me start by saying that I have not listened to the interview. From what I have gathered from the 1 million posts is that in an interview on ESPN radio a guy who claims to be Emmit Randle called in to give an update and that update flamed the LSU staff saying that instead of being the # 2 guy Randle would be the #3 guy if Benton came.

None of this is making any sense...

1) Did anyone confirm this was actually Emmit Randle calling in?

2) LSU was 90% sure they were going to sign Benton and he and Randle would always be competing for the #2/#3 WR position once Lafell decided to stay. This has not changed, why is it suddenly an issue for the Randles'

This entire "interview" is starting to sound a little suspect and completely out of character for the Randles'. And for that matter the LSU staff who by all accounts are always "straight up" with recruits.

What's the logic there? That the father is pushing him elsewhere?

There have been rumblings for a long while that RR's father didn't want him at LSU. They have been squashed as ridiculous rumor and Gump propoganda for months.

However, now we have 2 prominent pay-site mods saying that they know for a fact that RR "wants" to sign with LSU tomorrow. There are reports that the family is conflicted.

Sounds like it's plausible that his dad wants him elsewhere, and he's upset that RR wants LSU. I'm not saying that's the case (and I haven't got a clue why his dad would feel that way), but it sounds feasible.

If the reports are true and RR's Dad is airing a family disagreement...man.
