And it doesnt matter what some hack's mock draft says months before the draft. The dude is not staying more than 1 year unless something catastrophic happens.

If you want to plainly ignore what our own coach said, so be it, he was recruited here as a 1 and done, period.

Certainly neither he, nor Wade, expected him to be at LSU more than 1 season. And that very well could be the case. Right now I expect that to be the case.

However, it's not unreasonable to point out that at this point in the season Reid may not be the first round "lock" everyone assumed he was at the beginning of the year. If that is still the case at the end of the year, then he may want to consider staying another season. Being a 2nd round pick in the NBA doesn't really guarantee you anything.

If he remains a fringe first rounder then he may want to consider the route of someone like Daniel Gafford at Arkansas. Gafford was a fringe first rounder at the end of last season. He chose to return to Ark for his soph season and has improved tremendously. As a result, he's likely played his way into a first round lock. Same for Robert Williams at A&M. It's not always a death knell to stay one more season

I'd love for Reid to stay too, but I certainly arent going to come close to expecting it or even hoping for it. Best to expect him to move on because day 1 plan was spend some months here and declare. If he can keep showing out some games he'll have all the tape they'll need.

Gafford and Williams were/are more true bigs, and not really in the mold of Reid at all. Reid is way more like what NBA bigs are becoming where Williams and Gafford are a little more old school. The NBA draft is just so much potential based and people tend to forget that. Reid has been up and down so far this year, but when he's on, you can see why he could be a 1st rounder.

If Skal Labissière can get drafted in the first round after that very weak freshman season he had, then I don’t see why Naz wouldn’t. I’d love to have him back, but seems like once they think they are gone, they go regardless of whether it makes the most sense.

Agreed but it's hard to do that not being a blue blood school every year. I think Naz could easily come back for one more year and benefit tremendously for it.

Yea, I know it is. Wade seems to have a very good understanding of this and seems to know how to manage it. LSU isn't a blue blood, but does have a reputation and history that brings it closer to a blue blood than say a program like Ole Miss or South Carolina. I'd say LSU is in the range of an Arkansas, perception wise. Not a blue blood but known for basketball to some degree. Anyway, yea, I agree, I think Naz has a lot of talent and skill, but could benefit from another year in college. He just seems to have weak legs and has trouble finishing at the rim. Needs to do some squats with heavy weights. All these freshmen will get more athletic after spending time in the weight room during the off season. I can see Javonte' filling in for Tremont really well. He will be quicker and faster next season. He will actually, IMO, be better scoring on the drive than Tremont, simple because he is so much taller. But, yea, we will miss Tremont. I've seen a PG on verbal commits LSU is recruiting, Noah Kamba LINK looks like he could be a decent replacement for Tremont. Tell me what you think. Kid has very good handles, drives good, passes good and can shoot. I don't know where LSU stands with him, but he looks like a very good player.

Skal was also projected to be a top 2 pick before his freshman year and ended up going 28th overall. He dropped tremendously after seeing him actually play. I think he had more promise being 6'11 with a 7'3 wingspan defensively. He also moves real well for a big guy. Naz has to either pick it up offensively or defensively. One or the other to stay in the first round.
