Let’s be honest until judging gets a lot better there will be always something kind of a joke about this sport.

Florida was overscored all year. And we can throw Michigan into that group as well. All of the teams had mistakes but OU was clearly the best team this afternoon.

I can make a list of each team and all their over scores. It’s honestly too many to count

But it’s simply incredible the way OU performed the last 3 rotations after the near disaster first rotation. They pretty much had to be as close to perfect as possible because Florida was too strong for any other type of mistake

OU and Florida were both mentally tough. Didn’t crumble after their mistakes. I commend both teams for that.

Yes they were. Everyone is complaining about scores but Congratulations to Oklahoma.Kj is the Suzanne of our era. She knows how to keep her team mentally tough and a formula for winning when it counts. I do feel gutted for Florida but you compare the roster. On paper Fl has all the national team members and Olympic alternates and OU has the level 10,s and still consistently winning at a high level. U have to applaud greatness and that coaching staff has it down pack. Mental toughness was displayed today and that is what won them this championship.

Mental ability makes the difference! KJ has the formula for success. I will say YF vaults were not appreciated in this meet. I hope we have upgrades on vault for 2023.

I’m telling y’all we need to throw some money at her. She may want to coach in front of 11,000. I don’t see how it could be a miss.

This was supposed to be Florida's coronation. The unbeatable team that was supposed to drop a 198.500 to win it all with 5 10's in the final

Oklahoma deserved this title.

Might be their sweetest title yet considering they were the #1 team and got little respect all year and were up against Olympians. Everybody raving about the Olympians and Elite darlings UCLA/UF got.... meanwhile Oklahoma just quietly recruiting lvl 10's like Bowers and keep plugging along without much fanfare.

They just go out there and do the work. Wish we had a coach like KJ. She clearly knows what buttons to push and how to get them motivated. A lesser coach would have pushed the wrong buttons after Roation 1 and torpedo the rest of the meet. Not KJ Kindler.

OU would never let KJ leave. They can match any offer. Heck could we try to hire Maggie away from OU and make her a top paid assistant just to pick her brain and figure out how OU runs things. Try to figure out their process and work it into ours. What we're doing & our mentality doesn't work and what they do works.

Two things I will correct you on/mention:

1. Bowers is also a former elite. Yes she was a level 10 when she graduated but she was recruited to OU and committed as an elite level gymnast.

2. If we’re going to pull KJ from OU, money isn’t going to be enough. We need to pull Lou Ball as well. He is her husband and the current vault coach for OU. I see them as a 2-for-1 deal like the Griffeths which would mean Gnat and Jay have to end up elsewhere in order to bring those 2 in. If we are able to do that, I say KJ takes the reigns on coaching beam since it’s clear she has that event down to a science with the mental toughness aspect of it, routine construction and recruiting natural beamers to compete on that event from Level 10 mostly hit also elite. Then we have her and Courtney tag team on floor choreography and music selection since KJ is known for choreographing and editing the music for the girls at OU. That would leave Lou and Garrett to tag team on bars and vault to get us the upgraded vaults we need but also clean and consistent bar sets with the difficulty to compete with a Florida type team. That would be a championship winning coaching staff right there

This is an intriguing post from Greg Marsden found on CGN.

I used to spill before it was announced by the school but have been convinced now to wait. I will say, that from what I'm hearing, some ACs are going to fall on their sword for underperforming HCs. Should be an interesting coaching carousel and transfer portal this summer.

Interesting… but there are only a few obvious situations he could be referring to

Ragan Smith, Audrey Davis, and Olivia Trautman are also former elites.

Jay took the recruiting to another level we never had. He had always been one of the best recruiters out there. DD was solid but she never got the talent top to bottom until Jay came in. She had not won a SEC title since 1981 until they finally broke through in 2017. Following bringing Jay in, We flipped Lexie Priessman and got Finnegan which was a game changing class for us, it set up a tremendous 4 year run.

I don’t know what the future will be with Jay as HC (I hope he extremely successful) but I will say I’m appreciative to what him and DD did the previous decade. The program reached new levels, they built THE state of the art training facility and built the top or one of top fan bases in the country. The PMAC is almost sold out every single Friday now.

future coaches have a foundation with resources and support they need to compete with the best.

Under DD WITH Jay's recruiting and Coaching!!

Prior to Jay's arrival we had been to the team finals twice and finished 5th and 6th. After Jay's arrival we have been to the Finals 6 times. We have had 1-5th, 1-4th, and 4 seconds.

ANY talk of replacing Jay at this point does nothing but undermine the program so many say they love, but now they are trying to undermine and tear it down WAY TO SOON!!!
He has earned a chance to Coach what is NOW his team without any influence or interference from anyone.

If you want some entertainment, get a load of this fan on Twitter. I saw it making its rounds through the gymternet. She is tweeting at OU and their athletes to give their rings back and that they didn’t deserve it
