I agree, that's very fair. The thing is that I do actually think we have athletes who could be star quality, but we are not using them, eg Jeffrey has good form and lines (and the GAGE training), similarly KJ's exhibition I thought had higher scoring potential than some of the routines we put out with form errors.

Can we talk about Haleigh’s vault? I just went back to look at it and I honestly can’t figure out what went wrong. It looks like she hit the springboard wrong or the timing was off? I was so sure she would run away with the vault title.

I can only assume her run was off and so it went south from the moment she hit the springboard in the wrong spot.

someone mentioning on Twitter that Bryant hyperextended her elbow and is in a sling from her vault. Anyone know anything about this or if there is any truth to it?

Her run was off, she hit the springboard way to low. She tried to compensate by pushing more on her block. She realized it wasn't there so she bailed on the vault as to not injure herself. They then immedialtely iced her forearm

Well, CGN has outlined its speculation on Head Coach hires for Clemson.

The video press conference this weeks says Bryant elbow is looking ok - very good news

I haven't been wowed by the McCool-Griffeths - given the hype surrounding them. I think our vault has taken a step back and it seems Garrett is handling that for the most part. I actually like Courtney's floor routines (especially KJ's), but the inconsistency across that event is disappointing. I think that probably isn't as much to do with her coaching as it is with injuries, but still.

Interested in other thoughts? I am not suggesting that we don't' give them more time or anything like that - I just think I was not as impressed as I thought I might be.

I hope the Griffeths don’t go anywhere. Not after one season. I think it takes at least 2 or 3 seasons to judge their effectiveness as coaches. That being said, who would we want as their replacements? (Those of you who know the coaching world, which I certainly don’t!)

Again, I hope they stay here! But with Clemson hiring, and possibly Georgia, I’m worried they will get an offer.

Unfortunately I don't think this is so much a knock on Garrett as it is proof that Bob Moore was just the best at what he did. We are really missing him IMO. I felt like Bob not only pushed for more difficulty but was able to develop athletes on the event - Edwards was a walk on when she came but developed into a lineup staple on vault.

I also like the Courtney floor routines, actually. I think they may just need more time to settle in. Imo Gnat is only just finding her stride. The McCool-Griffeths had more experience for sure but it's still a big change coming to LSU and only their first season.

I liked all of the Courtney routines except for Haleigh’s. It just feels a bit choppy. I absolutely loved her routine from last year, so maybe it’s just not fair of me to compare this year’s to last.

I agree! Haleigh's floor scores have been lower this year than in the past. I thought she should have scored much higher at SEC's. She is an excellent performer so maybe the flow of the routine is an issue. It's puzzling for sure.

I think if CKC is fired then the Griffeths leave. If so I would like to see Miya come back. Between her and Bugs they could coach any of the events. Also I think Miya has done a great job with utahs floor this year.

I love Myia, but do we want two young, new coaches as Jay’s only assistants? (Well I guess we’d need to hire another coach also). I feel like we need an older, experienced coach on the staff, too.

I would wait a few years on Hambrick to come back until she gets more experience.

Going too young can harm a program. Look at Arkansas. This year they brought back nearly their entire team from last year + had some promising freshman and they regressed big time.
This season 3/4 of their "star studded OMG" staff was under 26, and it showed. They went from SEC Session 2 to getting beat by UGA and being the bottom of the conference

Yeah I agree Arkansas really disappointed this year.

SEC awards announced today- Bryant and KJ received accolades (I think those are based on the SEC championship, not the full season).

If any of you follow Reddit's Twitter you have probably seen the picture and posts concerning Alyona's DLO on bars. We all know it is not a traditional DLO but the post on Reddit
was not necessary IMO. Some Social Media Sites can be so distasteful in allowing hurtful posts to others.

I usually do stay away from Reddit but a friend sent me the link. The comments under the photo were not complimentary to say the least. She said these posters are always knocking on LSU. Most LSU fans know we catch a lot of flack but to me this was overboard.
