Hence why I’m choosing not to form any specific solid opinion on the matter until the full story has been confirmed, especially since most people’s opinions are attacking the character and essence of a 19 year old.
Side note: I’m incredibly fed up with people attacking LSU and saying we have to “answer for what’s going on within our program with regards to AJ” when nothing is official until she is even officially added to our roster. This is the same logic that applies to girls who start in January or even transfer at the end of the season: they may have announced it on their social media or signed an NLI with said team that they’re transferring to or planning on attending but honestly if we’ve learned anything from this past year, especially with the uncertainty of Morgan Hurd’s college plans for so long, people should realize by now that a gymnast is not confirmed to be on the team/officially part of the program until they are added to the school’s roster. If that was the case with Hurd, why can’t the same thing apply to AJ?

No gymnastics this week. I am getting sad.

So much for all that masking the gymternet has been sucking them off for.

Because these schools are stuck in outdated protocols. The current risk factor is very minimal for these athletes.
It should be as simple as if you test positive, you’re out. The contact tracing should be irrelevant at this point.

Can we go to another school this weekend? Utah state was able to switch its meet yesterday
Looks like Nebraska is missing an opponent this weekend

They could perhaps although it may be difficult last minute for tomorrow. Maybe they can set up a meet for Sunday with notice if they can get the right team.

I feel terrible for the girls. They work so hard, and now this.

I wonder if we will run into a situation where teams need to just perform as a solo meet Just to get scores established..... That seems like it would be an option I don't know if it is even allowed

Only other option I can think of is a tri meet with another two teams competing already?

Good for Jay for trying! Ms. Gobourne also said that the LSU and UCLA gymnasts have been in contact

I heard from someone earlier today they had reached out but some are not saying anything at all. Although coaches may not be able to speak on certain things to other programs if they do transfer. Jeffrey putting LSU in her bio may have been premature but LSU has certainly been talking with UCLA folks (gymnasts especially).

UCLA gymnasts posted today that they reported the issue 3 months ago and no response from the AD. Norah and Margettez

Also reported that the UCLA coach said nothing to Clark. Rumors are that the transfer will not happen. If this is true, she may have ruined her entire collegiate career.

Well…I didn’t look at the internet today and things seems to have … escalated.
I am so disappointed about the meet being canceled - but glad that the gymternet will have to stop their virtue signaling for Arkansas - it literally doesn’t matter what you do with omicron, everyone will get it, be mildly sick, and on their way
Secondly, wow, could things get any crazier with AJ. Regardless of the truth of any it UCLA/Waller have a huge optics/PR problem right now. there is no way, I can’t imagine, that if even a breath of this even could be true that Jay would take her. She’s good, but no one is that good.

This is getting ridiculous with meet cancellations. What is LSU supposed to do if this keeps happening? At some point they have to change their qualifying system or allow teams to compete on their own for a score. Teams can literally work together to eliminate others in their conference if they wanted.
