The bad.. I expected more out of these juniors. How did they not push to make more lineups by now? Is it simply the coaches only stick to what they are good at? Is it injuries that keep holding them back? Instead all these vacated spots are left to be fielded by freshman.

Bars lineup.. I’m not a coach, but it doesn’t make any sense at all. Kiya needs to be moved down the lineup, and Ruby back up. I’m not sure if Alyona was ready, but they probably wanted to go ahead with her because Dean will tap out at 9.80, and that’s only if judges are willing to close their eyes on form breaks. I think we are really missing Bailey here, and overall missing her depth we thought we would have vault and floor from her as well.

The good is there is still a lot of potential, and I know they will improve. Freshman will gain the experience needed throughout the season, and hopefully that will be enough to make a run in post season. I’m just not sure if this team can make the final four though with teams like Michigan, Denver, and Cal improving so much. Utah looks really strong as well taking into account of everything they lost. And heck, even Bama on paper and some training videos looks like they could be much improved this year as well.

Edited to add... Kiya Johnson! What a freaking star!

Edney's vault is awesome when she sticks but unfortunately it is still inconsistent. I would like to see Kiya anchor vault with her YDF. Kiya would also be a great anchor on floor. Her score proved this last night. Competing at Georgia is never easy. The coaches need to make changes in the lineups and pour on the motivation to get this team ready to make a better showing on Friday. NO more 195.00's PLEASE!! We do have a star in Kiya....feeling blessed to have her. Geaux Tigers!

Routine composition has GOT TO IMPROVE.

No more punch front for Kiya's beam. No more 1/1 pirouette for Kai's bars. If Alyona can't get her DLO bars dismount sorted out, just do a clean Stalder - Double Tuck.

And Ruby Harrold really should have learnt a double front half out by now.

Please D-D...

This is going to be unpopular but I’m kinda ready for DD to retire so we can see what jay does with routines. DD’s thinking of making routines harder than necessary=higher scores is not and will not ever be a thing. It just adds way too many built in deductions. Just because kiya can do tuck on bb doesn’t mean she needs to, Rheagan needs to take the switch leap out bc sometimes she can’t get it all the way around. They definitely need to find Alyona a new dismount.
Lineups I would switch kennedi and kiya on vault and floor (won’t happen though). I would start Kai, kiya, ruby, kennedi, Sami, and put alyona at the end on in. On beam I know Christina likes to go first but we could reallly use her as 2nd or 3rd. I would do dean, Sami, Christina, kiya, kennedi, and then rheagan.
Floor is good except anchor spot.Vault is just going to take some meet experience. Glad they are starting slow though because that really helped us peak at the right time last year.

Be careful what you ask for. Jay didn’t do so hot at Georgia. They missed nationals his first year. While I think he has learned a lot from his Georgia experience, I say don’t give up on DD just yet. I’m pretty sure the coaches will have it together by next Friday.

I get that, but they aren’t going to change routines. I think their routines with built in deductions have possibly cost them a few championships. I will be interested to see who he hires to be asst. and my last point is this is the 1st year I haven’t liked any of the floor routines. I don’t like any of the music and Olivia routine is just ewing’s from a few years ago. Maybe ashleigh needs to explore more music possibilities or visit with more choreographers. With all that said I’m very excited to see what this team can do! Go tigers!

Georgia had a rough meet last night as well. They won but only with a 195.1. It will be interesting to see what goes down next week in Georgia.

Yea that’s pretty sad and tough for Ga to lose Rachel Dickson her senior year. Be interested to see if she comes back or not.

It’s hard to believe that LSU counted 12 scores of less than 9.85. Only had 5 scores of 9.90 or better. Pretty sure that won’t happen again.

I think we all need to pump the brakes, take a deep breath and let the coaches do their job. Give them a chance to bring this team along. Give it time and just be fans not back seat coaches

Good news for LSU is Maddie Rau is here at LSU early, She has a big 1 1/2 vault. Much needed depth is on the way, just got to weather the storm this year with the limited depth on vault.

Side note, the collegiate challenge has some first class robbery. The scoring is atrocious. Cal getting screwed with their scores while UCLA and OU have gotten some favorable scoring.

Check out this "9.95 bars routine" from Margzetta Frazier

Just realized that LSU has no sophomores competing right now. D’Antonio is training but isn’t in any of the lineups. Bailey is out for the year. That’s tough. I also realized that there is no Ashleigh Gnat for the first time in six years. She has been a great coach in practice and on the sidelines the past two years. Her leadership is going to be hard to replace.

Just my 2 cents - we're suffering from inexperience. Good thing that's an easy problem to fix.

We need Sarah to consistently find her landings on vault. She had a fab meet this weekend we should give her credit for. We also just need depth, which is where not having Bailey hurts us.

We shouldn't have 3 freshman at the start of the bars lineup. I like having Sami later for that score boost, but she's dependable and we should use that. Hopefully that whole lineup moves around and settles to a better pattern once Alyona is healthy and Kai gets more reps.

I still think Bridget is getting hit with that pause deduction on beam that no other conference seems to get. I think Sami and Kiya's falls were just bad luck to be honest. Hoping Reagan gets her 10 soon, hoping Alyona can help out once she's healthier, and hoping D'Antonio gets a shot too. Beam looking ok in my opinion.

We have so much depth on floor, but we're just not consistent. Reagan and Christina need to step up, I really thought those two would be anchoring in no time back before they arrived at LSU. Gunter is a sweetheart and I loved seeing her in that lineup, I think she can deliver next time. Wish we still had Kirby here too.

We're just an inexperienced team. We can all admit we lost some good routines last year, but those girls were leaders for years which kept our current team in early lineup positions and sometimes out of the lineup entirely. And with that inexperience, who do our freshmen look to for that confidence boost? No competitors in the sophomore class, no all arounders in the junior class, and only 2 in the senior class. They'll make their own way, give it a minute and they'll get their confidence too. No real reason to worry just yet.

She missed several handstands and yet was awarded a 9.95....typical scoring for the Blue Bloods...

That’s a 9.8-9.85 routine.

Livvy Dunne is training a Maloney to beautiful Bhardwaj. Can’t wait to see how she progresses throughout the season.
