i just cant understand why a state recruit would benefit going somewhere other than lsu.first you go to school for a degree, then you become a star.then after your college career if for some chance you dont make it in the nfl you can name your job in state.who would you hire.glen dorsey or joe mcknight.

Reed should go where ever he wants...that being said if I lived in Louisiana and decided to ateend school of an arch rival I would probably make plans not to come back and live in Louisisna after my playing days were over....

If owned a business, there is no way a #1 Louisiana recruit goes to Auburn to play ball and then comes to me for a job unless LSU did not recruit him....Go work in Alabama....and dont tell me that its not that way in Alabama

Some of you really need to evaluate your priorities in life.

You may laugh and I agree that it sounds silly but it is the absolute truth.

Archie = Saints hall of famer that lives in New Orleans. Dumb comparison.

Well, we have had 14 pro-bowl running backs in the league from AU.

Correct. And not one of them played for this Auburn coaching staff.

You can't use one argument for running backs, then change it for receivers.

You proved my point exactly.

Ridiculous. Maybe true, but still ridiculous.

Reed is good but there are other good WRs out there. Reed, Fobbs, Boone...I would like to sign two of those and I really have no preference as to which ones.

When it comes down to the bottom line, I think Reed just feels more comfortable at Auburn (for whatever reason...I assume its the bond he developed with the coaches) and for that reason I think he stays with Auburn.

Am I missing something? From Mississippi, went to ole miss. Played for New Orleans, still lives in New Orleans.

Wow! Where to begin with this?

Archie Manning is from Mississippi, and he didn't go to an arch rival - he went to Ole Miss. He was drafted by the Saints.

While I agree with your sentiment, Manning is not in the NFL HOF. (He is a member of the College Football HOF.) I agree it was, at best, a dubious reference.

They have an update on Tigerbait on Reed that they put at 5:05. It leads right to the message board however

archie is treated like a NFL HOF qb by NOLA.. it's just gonna suck for reed if he goes to AU and taylor bails on him, which could easily happen

Archie manning is from Misissippi and then played for the Saints. He has made a ton of money as a pro player and stayed where he could make more after he retired. Reed on the other hand will not live in Auburn Alabama the rest of his life becuase there is no pro team. If he does not make it in the pros then its probably back to Louisiana....

Reed quotes from weekend
It should also be pointed out that LSU had two of the top six receivers (in terms of receptions) in the SEC this year.

1 Shay Hodge Mississippi 70
2 Aaron Hernandez Florida 68
3 Darvin Adams Auburn 60
4 Brandon LaFell LSU 57
5 A.J. Green Georgia 53
Terrance Toliver LSU 53

That is funny. An implied threat to an 18 year old you do not know. And I am pretty sure you are not a business owner.

your a dick!...it was not written as a threat but as an opinion. And I basically said if I owned a business I would hire a kid from Louisiana before I hired a kid from Auburn. Especially a football star! Who better to generate business and mix it up with people in Louisiana but an LSU TIGER FOOTBALL STAR.....
