I am sure that most of us are a little weary of the wait and see games because we love our school first and foremost.

This is not to take anything away from a recruits right to visit and to making the best choice and certainly not to flame anyone...

I am just not sure piting Bama against us is such a great idea moving forward. Miles and staff while being very gracious and open to a recruit taking visits does not seem content anymore to waiting around as evident by all of the OOS offers.

LF aside, most other positions have a broad depth to them this year and the bottom line is, if Cam is the success that we all hope that he will be, LSU will become an even hotter ticket.

Bama like lSU only has so many scholarships to offer, I would hate to see an La. player miss out just to get in free trips, etc...

I think that QB's B. Harris / D. Cornwell could be a unique example. What if Kizer and Rudolph decide to go ahead and commit early to get a spot ?

Like the old saying, there are only so manys balls to go around.

We will never leave Lousiana open to be raided, especially by Bama. In state players are what have brought us from mediocrity.

This years crop of La talent is forcing our staff to be patient with them. You cant move on from La kids and go get OOS kids that are just as good, or better, when the La kids are better than the OOS kids.

Most of the kids we have offered in La will have an offer until around NSD and because LSU has a legit shot at all of them, our staff is not going to move on. It's not always like that but the crop in La is just that strong.

I do agree to this mostly.

But positions like the WR slots with all of the depth and possibile OOS guys commiting, we cannot take them all.

I just hope that if a kid really loves LSU, that he punches his ticket early, because LSU will be special in the years to come.

this is what makes it interesting...like guessing the stock market, i suppose. know what knows what is going to happen (l collins)

because if there are non-commitable offers to the oos guys like blacknall, kizer etc, due to wanting in-state guys, but then quinn/dupre find that Bama and ATM are better suited, then we are out of luck, as Michigan/OSU/ND etc will have offered most of those OOS guys.

but that is why folks pay for yearly subscriptions for recruiting sites instead of like the old days....

anyone remember getting your Forrest Davis Recruitng magazing way, way too late via mail from Atlanta?

Thing is, we've no idea who/how many have told CLM or Frank that they're definitely in....but want to take those visits. Who wouldn't want to, all expenses paid et all.

This could be very true but a huge chance for the recruit as well.

Remember what happend last year, Bama can and will pull the rug out from underneath a recruit that has committed.

Barring legal trouble, bama has never "pulled" an offer. They've offered greyshirts, but so has lsu.

Agreed. If we can keep other hands out of the cookie jar, this has potential to be one of the best class I've seen in my lifetime.

We'll wait as long as it takes.

Taylor is a running back from North Atlanta High School who has been committed to Alabama since February. Unfortunately, Alabama coach Nick Saban is no longer willing to honor the scholarship he promised to give Taylor for the upcoming fall, according to Taylor.

quote:

Alabama has cited a knee injury Taylor suffered in August as a reason he should wait until 2013 to sign with the Crimson Tide. But Alabama already has 27 commitments for the class of 2012 and appears to be trimming the list to make sure it fits under the SEC’s 25-player signing limit.

quote:

Saban) said the only reason he can’t sign me is because he can’t sign 26 people,” Taylor told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. “They can only sign 25 people. He said he was going to sign me with the next class.”

quote:

Pritchett told the AJC. “I’m disappointed with the whole process. If a kid commits and the college accepts it, then the college should honor it.”

and yes LSU did the same thing with elliot porter in 2010.

Where LSU Recruiting is concerned LF is at a football position without much depth as far as other comparable recruits. LF is in a class by himself at his position. He holds all the cards plain and simple. We will keep a scholarship for him until the last possible day. He could wait a couple of weeks after national signing day and still have an offer on the table. Miles will make room for special players at need positions. That's the way it is and it won't change anytime soon. Miles is right for doing it this way. It's the way the game is played today for top level elite players.
