Thomas is an intriguing overall athlete and prospect due to his measurables and how he is employed within the offense. Given his height and bulk as a flex tight end/H-back he is really impressive with his feet and quickness. He is not always a quick twitch guy and at times, but is extremely butal with blocking skills. Thomas is still fighting academic issues, but expects to arrive at LSU before the summer semester begins.

Interesting pick. I didn't know if he would be a blocking TE or not and I was concerned with LSU's history of TE's. Not only not getting a lot of receptions, but moving to other positions like FB. Not to mention the TEs that should be signing this year.

I really wanted to take this guy, but his grades worried me.
I love his tape. Big, can really run, and he's a natural receiver. If he didn't have grade issues, I think he could play for LSU this year, since there really isn't much established depth at TE after Clement, and while I think Nic Jacobs will be good, he's more of a blocker IMO.

His grades worry me as well...which is why I took him this late...he has the making of being one hell of a sleeper if he can take care of business in the classroom!

I like the Thomas pick a lot. I was looking at him with my supplemental picks. I actually spoke with Shea at the Bash this year and he compared Thomas to Rob Gronkowski on the football field. I kind of laughed because I thought it was really high praise, but Shea said he thought Thomas could be really special if he got his grades right.
