Everyone was surprised when he chose ECU, but it was his only option at the end. All the other schools backed off.

I like taking chances on these guys with off field/character/grade issues if it seems like there is even a chance they can get their act together because it can lead to steals in the later rounds. The last two years it hasn't worked as well as I would like though ......

Just landed folks.
I will try to get my pick as soon as I can. I have to get my luggage and try to drive the hell out of New Orleans.
Maybe an hour or so.

jembeurt selects Shaquille Powell RB, Duke
Powell will be the perfect replacement for SR RB Desmond Scott. Both are 5'9", and 190 lbs. Like Scott, I think Powell will work his way into the rotation a little bit as a freshman, and then take over the reigns from next year on out. Powell has really good vision, very good balance, carries the ball well, and has the moves to juke you or run you over. The knock on him is breakaway speed, but with the clips I've seen, he has more than enough speed. Probably the best/highest recruit since Scott four that Duke has gotten since Scott four years ago.
ETA: Sorry for the wait guys.

That was my thinking, and I thought that once most kids get to college that they grow up, but doing this draft and watching some of the lower round picks with character issues has made me realize that most kids with issues keep those issues.

I saw him earlier and was hoping he would fall a few more rounds. Good pick.

Yea, I have always waited on RBs. Not sure why. I guess I always see the depth in that position and try to load up on others first.
Two years ago I drafted my RB in the 22nd round. He went on to lead the team in rushing that year. Last year, I had a guy pegged late. However, he was so underrated, I went ahead and picked another guy in the 14th round who I just happened to find late. The other player, I selected with one of my extra picks. Both ended up playing a ton and both will start for their respective teams.
The same thing happened this year. I have a player I really like, but when Shaq fell, I had to take him. I'm hoping that my other player will still be there in the extra rounds. We'll see.

Running a 46 defense in today's fast paced offense world is probably pretty crazy. However, it can be done with the right skill set of players. Like everything in my life, flexibility is key (chica, chica, bow wow)
.
Depending on if I am able to get the last couple of pieces for my defense, I could still run any type of defense. In a 3-4, Goldman could bump inside, my other DT could shift to DE (he played DE in HS), my other DE could play the other OLB spot (hoping that both will still be available later), Perry sliding inside to ILB, with Williamson playing the SS spot full time. The key to my 46 is the coverage ability of Eligwe, my Will, and Williamson, my Rover/SS. Both are 6' 3" and are really aware in coverage and can cover a lot of ground if necessary. Faster than you TEs and stronger than your slot WRs.
My Oline is pretty damn strong too. Having drafted well on the Oline before, I can say I feel the best about this Oline than the other two during their respective drafts. Time will tell obviously.

I totally have pickers remorse. I wish I had been able to research a little more before making my picks. I'll have an in depth team breakdown after the next series of picks.

Bumpity Bump Bump
Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I remember last year you getting married during this thing. Congrats!
I say go ahead and make your selection.
ETA: Actually, I just realized that OIT only selected a couple of hours ago. Probably should give Roll some more time. My bad.
