Fine by me. I got another guy I want anyhow.

He will be the Mr. Irrelevant of this draft...

BTW, I'm developing a very loose, very imperfect "scoring" system. It's impossible to measure every little aspect, but it will at least be kinda fun.
I was just gonna drop in with the final results, but I realized while working last night that it's gonna take more time to develop...

If you insist... picks coming shortly...

My next pick, had to be done after my homer choices were taken last round, I came up with
Seth dooley de
6'5 230 played some rb and has a 35" vertical

I think we should just give points based all conference, all american, major awards and draft. Nothing complicated

With my 24th round pick, OBUDan selects:
Malik Gilmore, WR, Oregon State
Gilmore is a big-bodied kid (6'3, 195) that showed out at multiple camps this past summer. Great hands catcher who high points the football. Runs good routes. Doesn't have elite top end speed, but he doesn't look slow on tape. Really good quicks, getting in and out of cuts and breaks for his routes. Knows how to use his big frame to shield off defenders. His block at 3:28 on the above clip is worth the price of admission itself.
With my 25th round pick OBUDan selects:
Damien Williams, RB, OU
I feel like this could be the steal of the draft. I had seen bits and pieces about him before, but I finally sat down to look at some tape of him last night. First, I put on the HS Tape. Definitely solid, but nothing that makes you gush. Then... I found some of his JUCO Tape. Then this happened:
Apparently in JUCO Williams added elite speed and power to his already good vision. He's also a great receiver out of the backfield. In a creative offense such as OU's, he is expected to contribute immediately. Every OU blog I've read says he'll get immediate snaps. I was worried about the depth chart, but they've had a lot of transfers and injuries at the position. Hell, this cat could be the lead back in a top 10 offense by year's end.
Feel like I struck gold.

Those are all figured in. You get points for:
-On Roster
-Starters (still debating if you should get points PER YEAR a player starts or just a one off)
-All Conference
-Conference Awards
-All American
-National Awards
-Draft picks (descending value dependent on round)

Nice pick with Williams. I liked him a lot.
Are we extending this by an extra round? Because that decision will affect my next pick.
I'm winning based on that one factor. All of my guys are still playing football --maybe at a different school, maybe at a different position, but still playing football-- except for one who is deceased.

I really almost took him over Ferguson last round after almost taking him in the first 22. Not sure what stopped me. Nice picks here.
I am cool with an additional round.

I think we should. But I'd like to get a couple more opinions.

You only get a point per rostered player, but that would give you an advantage for sure. I will say, that Cam Newton alone scored nearly as much as my entire team... so I may need to tinker with the point distribution somewhat...

They are pretty comparable I think. Big kids, not elite speed, good hands, physical. I like them both.

What I meant is that if the one factor, and only that one factor, was taken into consideration, I'd be winning.
My first class was pretty mediocre. I spent too much time trying to find hidden gems instead of concentrating on BPA. I feel that my second class has a high ceiling and that this class is my most solid from start to finish.

My first class was terrible.
I think I have 9 total guys not on roster, all from the first class, I believe.
Second class has potential.
This one I feel will be my best.

I did this a few years back. One of the many challenges in developing a scoring system is the revolving door of participants.
OBUDan has access to this sheet already.
2010 Scoring - Look at individual tabs

I'm definitely only scoring anyone who is participating now.

That is gonna be ALOT of work Dan. I'm all for everybody just bragging about their own team. Dick-measuring contest is the way to go.

It's a little bit of manual labor, but not overly difficult.
I built out a spreadsheet, so after all the counting and compilation, it'll just be dropping numbers in to get the final totals.
The labor will be adding the rosters and counting the guys. At this point, so few of them have made substantial impacts, it's quick to count.
