It can't be both pre Saban and off a national title. Jones left due to a death in the family and Corley got injured. Was Miles supposed to predict that? He got 2 bigtime recruits that Alabama wanted. You act like Saban was hand picking the state of Alabama because he got JR out of Mobile.

Bama was coming off a terrible season and we won the National Title. Saban came to Bama late when Phelon had already chosen LSU, so we hung on
I wish our current staff could go into Bama and grab a recruit like JR these days...but instead they come into our state and grab 4-star kids

Darrington Sentimore is the only one really. We just played that one wrong by not offering early enough. To his credit, I remember him saying that he appreciated the LSU offer but wanted to honor the commitment he made to Bama.

nope, sentimore was ready to make the switch on signing day, but the coaches got word that sam montgomery was coming here so the coaches chose him over darrington.

Saban's 2002 recruiting class at LSU might have been one of the worst I've seen outside of the 13 player class we were forced into one year.

Speaking of Saban & Aggies and recruiting out of state guys, I remember when Saban MELTED DOWN 
when the Texas LB recruit reneged on his verbal comittment on signing day.
