Need to keep Chavis. His defenses have been pretty high level over the years. If we lose him, we likely lose a couple of top notch kids. But...it is what it is.

Whoever replaces him should be on the phone with Dylan Moses within 5 mins of signing his contract.

I would assume Mack is headed to A&M if this holds up.

guys, remember that we provided chavis with the best talent he has ever had. he didn't recruit most of these guys. we had 4 defensive recruits prior to today. thats the lowest total of any sec team. we provided the talent, chavis provided the coaching. then chavis went into prevent mode at the end of every close game. we are going to be in a lot of close games. his history tells us we won't win enough of those close games. either he has to change or he has to go.

We had a great defense long before Chavis came here, but the recruits aren't old enough to remember how good it was. The defenses success will be attributed almost solely to Chavis.

Not only would it hurt us, but it will help aTm. They are an offense only team. With Chief at D.... They could shut down the SEC-W. Sumlin is a smart guy. He knows his weaknesses and is going for our jugular. We are the only team in the SEC he has never beaten... That could change if we don't let loose of a little $$ and pride.

It won't matter how many seats we have if they don't fill up.

Brick Haley has already signed his extension. So Brick will not be going with him.

Read the front page about the 5 coordinators that have signed extensions.

I'm sure A&M can afford the buyout. It isn't that far fetched

An extension with $0.00 buyout. He will most likely leave

That contract may as well be written on toilet paper.

Not all recruits commit to a school bc of a coach. A lot commit bc of the school. We probably will miss out on some guys bc of this but as long as we make a good hire everything will be ok

All I am saying is that with Brick signing, regardless if its written in stone or toilet paper, I think that would give us some hope that Chavis is going to stay.

But if you guys think we do better w/o Chavis then I guess it doesn't matter anyway.

Brick has a $0.00 buyout. The contract prevents nothing

So he signed just in case Chavis stays at LSU, he isn't without a contract.

However if Chavis goes to A&M then he can get an offer to A&M as well and leave???

If Chavis leaves, we'll probably lose out on some recruits; however, we may gain some unexpected interest depending on who we hire as a replacement.
