It's not an insult at all. It's a fact. almost every single OLman he recruited isn't here anymore and should be starting or proving depth. BTW they aren't starting anywhere.
He missed on a RB in 2016 and had one in his back yard. O is doing a much better job with evaluating players. The players he's recruited are at least providing depth and playing football.
O isn't gaining as much traction as you would like at some positions like OT and DL but he's making headway there and I think by 2021 we'll have great depth everywhere. I thinks he's recruiting the QB position and developing his QBs in a much more efficient way then Miles did as well. He's also keeping his juniors from leaving, which is very important. If that continues LSU will be where we were in 2007 in no time.
Just the quality of player is much better IMO. He had some stroke of bad luck this year with injuries and suspensions that would have possibly changed the course of the season greatly. Do we lose to Florida and A&M with Chassion, Taylor and Ingram? That's what I'm saying I think LSU will be much more equipped to take those types of loses by 2021 then they are now. It's just takes time to get to that point.

you do realize that guys like Saahdiq, Ingram, and Deculus committed when Les was still coach right? not to mention Cush and Magee.

which feels like a continuation of the previous regime.

time will tell here. O's starting QBs have been transfers, jury's still out on Brennan and obviously way out on the freshman. fact remains we had to go get a transfer QB because the one we had wasn't ready. not sure that says the development is better.
I like what O's done in some areas (LB being one), but it doesn't really feel like some huge improvement just yet.

I'd call Ika a surprise. We picked up momentum pretty late in the process.
He may be my favorite in this class.

Me, too. Ed needs to get Marvin on the phone and convince him to transfer here. He'll have to sit for 2019, but we'll need him bigly in 2020.
He looked seriously miserable in that interview I saw of him awhile back after FSU got their shite pushed in again. He doesn't love it there, and Jimbo's gone...he should be ripe for the pickings, and he can get back at his former HC that left him.
He'll be closer to home here, too...never should've picked FSU. He doesn't have to regret it forever.

That would be a recruiting violation.

You sure?
I didn't know...he snot a recruit any longer, right?
What just happened with Bru McCoy?

Definitely. You can't recruit players from other teams like that. This was one of the reasons the NCAA setup the transfer portal. Once a player puts his name in the portal, other teams can contact him, but not beforehand.
For Bru McCoy, Texas probably would say they didn't contact him until he was in the portal. But, we know that's probably not true, don't we?

Yes, we do.
Get on it, Ed.
Get on it, Ed.

Unfortunately, every major college football program breaks recruiting rules all the time. All the big boys pay their big time players or they're not getting the best players. No one talks about it, because they all do it.
The kid who signed with USC and is now headed to Texas didn't suddenly have a change of heart. Sure the coach left, but I'm sure Texas was all over this kid from the start.
One thing you have to remember is college football coaches/recruiters are not a bunch of choir boys making sure they play nice with everyone. College football recruiting is vicious, nasty and dirty to the core. I can't imagine what some of the top players left must be going through. That's why I'm hoping LSU can work its magic and hook a couple of big surprises!
