I follow the names, ratings, rumors, etc but do not watch any tape or see anyone in person.

Could someone with more knowledge describe what we are getting with Jackson and Holly? Any comps to recent LSU or other SEC backs?

I’ve seen some boards about how Kaleb is thicker and could be more of a “thumper.” Do we think either has star/NFL potential?

Tired of all the Ricks talk. Was hoping to get some perspective on the RBs since it’s been kinda Eh since CEH

He looks slow motion running, knees arent high, kind of plods along and then you realize he outran everyone by five yards and no one ever catches him even when they have an angle.

Jackson has not received the buzz he deserves. He is a very talented back with NFL potential.

Holly is a more dynamic version of Josh Williams.

Saw Holly 4 times. I said last year he was best RB in Louisiana. Jackson may be faster but Holly ain’t slow. I hate comparisons to past players but he is combination of Clyde and Hilliard.

Surprisingly, Kaleb Jackson has the exact same verified 100 time as Jalen Brown does (10.66).
Found on their 247 profiles, and these times were recorded 7 days apart from each other.

Edit for links

Kaleb Jackson 247

Jalen Brown 247

He's a burner at RB for sure. As for an LSU comp, his running style remains me most of Keiland Williams.

Holly carries around a Chuckie doll during the game, so there's that. Someone holds it for him on the sideline when he's in the game.

Holly is an all purpose back. He has great vision, hands, hips and can get the short yardage. He can be a kick off/punt returner or line up in the slot. He has very good speed but not a track star. He's a tough runner and hard to bring down.

IMO he's a little on the chunky side right now, he could lean up and gain some speed.

He could play safety if given the chance.

His running style (runs upright, ability to break tackles, and what appears to be elite breakaway speed) is reminiscent of Eric Dickerson. Not saying he's gonna be another Eric Dickerson, just has that same running style.

Not trying to dunk on the guys but I don't see either RB being high end SEC backs. I think they'll both be very solid contributors that probably can be compared to several in LSU's past. Someone like a Fournette, Guice, Hill, etc. is missing on the roster though. We still need an elite RB somewhere and I don't think you're going to get that with the ones in this class. Still hoping we get someone like that in the portal later. Running game has been abysmal since Clyde left for NFL.

Holly did break Fournette's all-time LA HS rushing record. You don't do that on accident.

If you're going to say that, then provide an explanation as to what you're basing your opinion on.
