With the rookie cap making getting to your second contract more important, coaches need to recruit players on the back end more than ever.

If Lawrence goes pro, we are looking at a starting DL of Farrell Fehoko (if he doesn’t leave) and Logan.

With backups of Cotton Thomas and Alexander and true freshmen.

That’s not gonna get it done.

We need Lawrence to stay another year or we could have nothing on DL in 2019.

If Klavon comes back it might help the pass rush. Lawrence is probably gone though.

Except those guys will be freshmen in 2 years

We could be bad next year and young in 2020

That’s not a recipe for success.

Logan, Fehoko, and Lawrence are not the problem with the pass rush. Florida brought safeties, corners, and middle linebackers all game and they mostly came completely unblocked. We brought nobody other than our outside linebackers who are terrible pass rushers. Moore looked the fastest off the edge but he did not play much.

I'm not worried, because Orgeron is a D-lineman whisperer.

The 2nd contract logic is horrible. 1st round pick money makes up for and then some the money lost for leaving too early. What a garbage myth. How many late round LSU guys have gotten a mega deal in recent memory?

We haven’t been able to get pass rush all season. Our d line needs to create pressure.

I like Lawrence but there is no reason for him to leave early at this point. Don’t see him as a first rounder at this point or a second rounder necessarily. He’s had one sack as a freshman, 1.5 sacks as a sophomore, and 0 sacks this season. Plays the run well, but that’s all I’ve seen so far. Can’t say he’s consistently disrupted the passer even to garner any early round attention.

I believe that Lawrence is only 20 years old. This could cause him to stay another year.

The push inside is night and day when he is vs when he is out of the game.

Rougarou will see a lot more snaps vs UGA. He’s the best NG on the team. Gives us better depth now with Fehoko sliding outside more and only having to play nose sparingly

Lawrence will not be drafted before the 5th round if he comes out early. Same with Fehoko.
What Lawrence needs to do is drop 15-20 pounds and prove he can stay healthy for consecutive games if he aspires to more than a NFL camp or 2 at most.

We’re watching different games, then. Lawrence gets the most pressure from our big guys. Fehoko does once or twice per game. Other than that there is nothing. Considering that our bigs are constantly outnumbered by blockers, Lawrence’s pressure has been fair.

Two points: 1 In my opinion, Aranda schemes for some of his lineman to play pattycake by the los to defense scrambles and screens. At times I’ve seen Lawrence singled up with a lineman and never leave the los. 2 Lawrence’s schtick is run-stopping. That is what the NFL will be drafting. Not being a great pass rusher will keep hm out of the first round but not the second.

Then why does Fehoko have more Qb pressures? He’s 4th in the SEC among DL
