I realize that many may think this is a dumb question. But, where does a homeschool kid go to play ball?

Looking at his film...apparently against neighborhood junior high kids.

That's pretty much what I thought.

But, seriously, are homeschool kids allowed to play ball at the local HS?

Tebow played 4A in Florida at Nease and played against Hoover, AL. Look at Douglas's film. The competition is not even close. Horrible example

Not comparing the two. Just saying there is precedence for home school kids going to play college football.

What is the case for Oliver?
The measurables are interesting:
6' 4", 218
4.78 40
60% completion
32 tds abt 8 ints
That's available info to anyone. LSU knows him well. Yet neither LSU nor anyone else with elite programs is knocking down his door...
What do you see that no one else does?

I'm not making the case for Oliver at all. To be honest I'm just hoping that Z. Lee makes it to campus.

I haven't jumped on any QB's support train yet, but if I had to say right now which one I would want LSU to sign, I'd probably pick Williams.

i've heard crowton wasnt crazy about olivers foot speed and i guess he doesnt fit in well as a dual threat option, but that hasnt worked out well for jefferson either. I think both lee's were timed around 4.7 in the 40 and oliver is 4.8. That being said, im not sure crowton is that great of a quarterback evaluator, he does good with other coaches quarterbacks. Northwestern in chicago likes him and their spread is a guy who gets rid of the ball quickly and reads well, not a bad thing to have for us.

well, I like Northwestern's coach and how they run their offense. They seem to get the most out of their players. See victory over Iowa last year and Bowl game vs Auburn. Their QB did well in that system as a semi-duel threat QB.

observe the offer list of Marquise Williams.

LSU has offered him but so has (local) North Carolina, and Mich and Notre Dame.

Its not as though LSU is not in the game. He is one of the out of state guys they would like.

LSU is one of his five favorites. he has a ton more offers:

That accelerated pace has been true for Charlotte (N.C.) Mallard Creek dual-threat signal caller Marquise Williams. The 6-foot-3, 218-pounder has scholarship offers from more than 20 college programs but narrowed his list to a top five earlier this month. That group consists of Michigan, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, Notre Dame and Louisiana State.

Scout shows 11 offers:

Live in Minden, but I am from Haughton. I also work in Haughton. I am not pulling against Leppert, hope he does great, I am just a big fan of Prescott, who received an offer today from Memphis.

I'm excited for ZL...if he makes it to campus. If he makes it to campus, I'd be more inclined to only taking one QB this class and I wouldn't mind a offer to someone like Oliver.

Even if he makes it to campus, there is a pretty good chance that he doesn't contribute to the football team.

Oh, ye of little QB faith!

So Zach Olivier is too slow (4.8 in 40), and Stevie Douglas is a "project".

1. Speed can be coached. CIP, Soviet 4x100 relay team.
2. Is either going to come in as a freshman and play immediately? Better a project that has great potential (Douglas does) than someone who will come in somewhat decent and stay that way for four years.
3. Where have I heard these arguments before? Oh yes... Drew Brees was too short and too slow. Sam Bradford didn't have good control of his throws (3-star out of HS). Wonder what happened to those fellows?

They got coached up...presumably by good QB coaches.
