re: ****QB Hayden Rettig COMMITS TO LSU****

I completely understand that and feel that is what causes the most concern for everyone that has concern. If he were from TX or the south then I'm sure no one would really be concerned. If it had been Bateman that committed their wouldn't be much concern and he is from Utahso another part of the concern seems to be that very few know anything or much about him and are cautious until they get to know more about Rettig. All things I completely get and have no issue with. My reasons for not having concern is primarily because of the position. QB commits are ordinarily very, very solid and become leaders in the recruiting process for the school they're committed to. If this were a commit at any other position then I'd be right there with you guys with concern. I'll be more concerned about Gilmore than Rettig and Gilmore has been nothing praising LSU for months now. Just different lines of thinking at other positions compared to QBs.

This kid sees the field and has timing! I just hope the rantards don't run him off before he ever gets here! God, please keep their negativity away from this site! Please!

I think people are worried because of Gunner Kiel. The fact that his brother is already at BC means that his mom isn't going to freak out and pressure him to stay closer to home.
I think it's stupid to worry about him any more than any other recruit. Some of you are acting like we never lose Louisiana kids at the last minute.

Exactly. When was the last time you saw a QB doing the whole hat thing on national signing day?
Yeah, usually only "dual threats" do that stuff.

His coach said on Tiger Rag radio this evening that he is solid to LSU. He also said that Oklahoma St., Washington St. and a few others were all players to get his commitment until" the prettiest girl in the room", LSU came in and swept him off his feet.
Furthermore, Hayden's high school coach said that Steve Kragthrope was the lead recruiter and that both he and Hayden have formed a great relationship with him. Coach said that he really trusts Coach Kragthorpe and that he thinks Haayden is in great hands. Said he had a previous recruit that raved about coach Kragthorpe and how he was a father figure to the guy and the reason he was where he was today as a coach somewhere. Really spoke well of LSU throughout the entire interview.
Also mentioned that Hayden is a true drop back Pro-style quarterback, not a guy that will run the zone-read at the next level. He said they have to run that offense out of necessity due to a poor offensive line. Says Hayden works hard on the weekends on coming from under center and becoming a pure pro-style quarterback. Also did say that he will be an Early Enrollee and will be here in January.
Kudos to Coach Kragthorpe for the hard work!

Kid looks like he's level headed, ambitious, and talented. I'm hopeful.

Hopefully this kid wont get cold feet and decommit.

Can' wait to see him run in to Tiger Stadium on a Saturday night and let it fly.

Krags and Miles need to stay on this kid an not him slip away. Like someone said earlier, this good of a Pro Style QB, a big WR like Leslie and some monsters on the D-line will make keep this team rolling for another 3-4 years..
Hayden Rettig

Pardon me if it's been discussed... I didn't read the 13 pages of posts.
I seem to remember this kid from the Elite 11 programs on ESPN. I think he was a big surprise and Dilfer was talking him up. I don't know where he finished but I'm almost certain he was there.
anyone know for sure ?

Guy picked up Pac 12 and Big 10 offers as a sophomore. Schools then took a step back and wait approach after he blew out his knee and didn't play a game last year as a junior. He is full-speed now. Expect him to blow up more after the summer and during his senior year this fall.
Great pickup by us.
