Doesn't mean that LSU will beat Auburn every year the next 4 years. We didn't this year, but as far as raw talent goes, LSU and Bama, and even Florida will generally top Auburn pretty much any day.

Um, we were #22 in the preseason this year. Just sayin'

How 'bout waiting until the NCAA officially decides if Auburn's season counts? Especially since Cecil is on record as saying he asked for money. Just sayin'.

Just to be clear, LSU is not preseason #1. They are preseason #1 according to Dennis Dodd of CBS. Preseason #1 will be determined when the AP and Coaches Polls come out late summer

I was tempted not to so all this pointless nonsense could continue, but I didn't have the heart to let all this time continue to be wasted Oh well, back to the SECr

the only poll that matters is the one that has LSU number 1. you've been around here long enough to know that.

Rouge, many young guys just don't understand the racing concept of drafting, in terms of winning a collegiate football title. They are too young to fully understand the tolls of wearing that bullseye, in trying to set that race pace from wire-to-wire.

With the SEC winning five straight BCS titles, and opening with a team that just finished #2 in Dallas, and playing out of the SEC West. Wearing preseason #1 is a curse upon your shoulders..'tis better to draft!

1995 Neb, 1999 FSU, Mia 2001, USC 2004, Fla 2008, the rare few that have started at or near the top and finished there? And they were arguably more complete teams, and dominant vs the field than will be 2011 LSU.

LSU 2007 was a fairly consensus preseason #2 to USC, thus worthy of such praise, and yet their ranking had them catch every team's best shot.

Yes, there will be a dropoff next year with the loss of Cam and Nick, but don't act like the talent level between LSU and AU is huge. That's just plain stupid.

If you are on probation for a few years with scholarship losses, no TV, and no bowl games then I don't care how much talent you think Auburn has. It is irrelevant. And Auburn is no where close to being as deep and talented as LSU. Pull your head out of your arse for once and face reality.

The rest is just speculation and fun. Although I haven't seen a poll yet that ranks LSU any lower than 4th.

Auburn is actually loaded with Talent. Not as loaded as LSU, Alabama, or Florida, but they are close enough to these schools on average recruiting classes for the past 5 years that they could easily be just as good given margin for error. I thought they were a two man show as well, until i looked at their recruiting classes. As it is, Auburn had 1 or 2 down years, just like us. If we had Cam Newton this year, everyone would call us a one man show as well, but we know that wouldn't be true... the same goes for Auburn.
