Bowtie, he asked the med staff to eval a list of 5 QBs and the only one they wouldn't clear was Brees because of the concussions
He went to the med staff and cussed them out and called Wayne Huizenga and told him he would frickin quit if the med staff wouldn't clear Brees, he didnt want Culpepper
Saints cleared and signed him 2 weeks later
That was the beginning of the end of his NFL career
To prove his point I think he drafted Ronnie Brown (Huizenga wouldn't let him draft a QB - Aaron Rodgers)
If the med staff had cleared Brees or he had drafted Rodgers he's likely a very successful NFL coach and still there and Bama's history is vastly different

He was coming off rotator cuff. I don't recall him having concussions, but I'm pretty sure the issue at had was the shoulder

According to the Bama board, Cam will be visiting Alabama for their scrimmage this weekend with Hootie Jones and Cam Sims. Though they've reported that Hootie was supposed to visit Alabama for the past three weekends but hasn't shown up once. Maybe their N.La sources are slackin.

After reading your post I had to look it up. Actually it was both, but you're right the labrum was the bigger injury if that's the right word, they discovered a rotator cuff partial tear during surgery for the labrum.

I say this for one reason:
Many of those on the board will not announce until after the season...if LSU goes 8-4, there will be much disruption within the fan base relative to Miles (as compared to no disruption with our main competitor, Alabama).
I think the assumption that the season [record, performance, etc] will significantly affect a recruiting class is often overblown.
But under the scenario you put forth, plus the recent changes, this year is the exception.
i.e., I think you're dead on.
