There is a 14 page thread on WVU’s 247 site discussing Jefferson’s decision to enter the portal.
That much discussion from a rabid, albeit smaller fanbase, on one player’s decision leads you to believe he was a coveted performer.

In his bio link referenced JJ from Navarre and his dad played at Alcorn. I’m sure they are very familiar with LSU and probably visited before.

I think this gives lsu some flexibility. You can play all 3 at same time Smith, wingo and Jefferson. While none of the 3 are ideal 1 technique dt, they are all athletic. Then you can bring in a Guillory as a 1. Plus shand. Then Lee for 10 plays or so. If no injuries and smith comes back ok, adding Jefferson and shand gives the dline some parts to use that can be moved around.

Rewatching the Pitt game, Jefferson played exclusively at nose

If you read up on this guy that would be a homerun. LSU would have probably the best rotation in the country.

Not sure we would have the best rotation in the country but Jefferson fills a big need. Right now, we have no idea if Smith is going to return to pre-injury form and condition.

IMO the C from Cincy Renfro would be another great pickup in the portal.
