USC coach Pete Carroll is trying to keep other teams from stealing his prized recruits.

Be very, very quiet: Pete Carroll is hunting blue chips

This isn't anything new. Carroll had always told guys to hold off and stay silent until last year, when SC had more early commits than ever before under Carroll and it ended up being a pretty turbulent year. This is just going back to the way Carroll did it before last year, especially with out of state guys.

for what? for never publicly saying that he was coming to LSU and then not coming to LSU? holy shite, he never did what he didn't say he was going to do!

I'll take what McKnight did any day of the week over what Janzen Jackson and NuKeese Richardson did.

Yeah, to be honest McKnight should be completely forgotten about by now considering what Jackson did. I normally don't have a problem with recruits decisions but Jackson seemed like he intentionally was trying to hurt us with that B.S.

for what?

For knowing for quite some time that he wanted nothing to do with LSU. Could have told the LSU coaches to focus elsewhere.

What Janzen Jackson did was way worse. Not arguing that at all.

hes not obligated but its human decency

and its not just Mcknight, it was his coach- Curtis as well, he should have let the coaches know that Mcknight had no intention of going to LSU

to go a little further, sure hes not obligated to say where hes going but I really hope he didnt string LSU along either, thats a whole nother thing

Now, now, that's silliness.

Reversing the premise, McKnight and Curtis certainly had no "obligation" to lead LSU down the primrose path. It was something they chose to do.

Looks like Rick Neuheisel is making Petey sweat a little bit. That puts a smile on my face. I've been to the UCLA campus a few times to visit a friend. I'm surprised that school didn't give USC recruiting competition until now. That campus is pretty bad arse.

Not a USC fan, but find it kind of interesting he lost most his recruits to the new coach of UCLA who has a history of recruiting violations.

Would the word integrity mean anything to you?
It's like knowing you're going to dump someone and allowing them to find out last. No class.

The only recruit we really wanted that went to ucla was Pressley.

Sua' Filo was never an 'SC lean-- it was widely assumed he was going to Utah.

R. Carroll was told to make up his mind week's before. He didn't and he was effectively shut out of the process. One big factor is that we wanted him at CB and he wanted to play receiver. Honestly most 'SC folks were happy he went elsewhere.

And remember we stole Top 100 CB Byron Moore from ucla.

The one that really sucked was Te'o. That stung big time, especially because he reaffirmed his commitment to the staff the night before. Burfict sucked too, but he didn't have the grades (he still might not qualify at ASU) and his HS is a pipeline to ASU to begin with. That was seen coming for some time.

Scott Wolf is an 'SC hater. We take his opinions with less than a grain of salt.

+1

If you accept a scholarship from a school you commit to that school. If you don't want to go there don't accept it in the first place and if by chance you change your mind, given you have accepted and are taking a roster spot, you should if you have any class or common decency at all you would notify the school whose scholarship you originally accepted. Period.

Just my personal opinion, but Joe McKnight not signing with LSU wasn't a big loss from watching him play last year.........especially compared to what we have.

Stanford>USC (just kiddin')

I didn't mean to say Joe isn't a good player, only that his addition wouldn't have made that much of a difference.

touche, but the fact remains that even as a freshman, Joe put up much better stats than Keiland has in any of his 3 years. Neither has lived up to the hype though
