OU beat Bama once in the past 5 years in a game that Bama half-assed didn't care about and was about as prepared for as Saban was in his Cap 1 final farewell bowl game at LSU. The OU QB played absolutely his career game, and hasn't sniffed greatness since.
Fact is - OU isn't NC quality because it DOES NOT play defense. It's coaches are not respected as defensive gurus - Stoops' own brother has been run off once already and I guarantee you he's likely on the hot seat again if OU can't punch that easy ticket to the playoffs out of the Little 12 Conference. The days of respecting the winner of the TX State Fair game against soft Longhorns is over on the national scene. Meanwhile, despite Bama's recent dominance, the SEC has 4 different NC champions within the past 12 years. How many in the Little 12??
Bottom line, set aside the early commitment from Phillips and his high integrity and desire not to hurt OU - he has a history of openly wanting to got to LSU - guilt is the only logical reason for choosing OU - not in his best interest and OU knows it. LSU fans will respect what the young man decides regardless. I've lived in OKC for over 15 years and anyone outside OKie homers who've probably never driven outside the state will tell you that OK ain't the "little slice of Heaven" they talk about. Nasty weather, hot and cold, high winds, tornadoes, and not much in the way of "flavor" - Phillips will love the South LA culture and fan base. He should feel zero guilt in making his decision.

OU and Texas Tech had 854 yards of total offense.... EACH. NCAA record 1708 combined.

Yep, great credentials for his NFL resume. LSU LB's have had continued success at the next level, and will only get better with Aranda in charge. Add to that the support Phillips will have with some top quality recruits and LSU's previous recruitng class. DBU supports and makes LBs and DL players even better!

Yeah your "insiders" must not know much. Stoops cannot go in home again and if he does it will be a recruiting violation...

Yu say this about our defense bcuz the conference actually have offensive talent unlike the sec...thats y we smacked auburn around we smacked bama and we will dsm sure smack Lsu yall got lucky to play a terrible team with lamar Jackson on it making it seem as if it was a high power offense n it was actually one dimensional....we have more championships more wins a better winning percentage and a better coach and would destroy your defense and shut dwm your terrible sec offense. ...try to win a game against bama n win a sec championship b4 u speak on the sooners...so once u can finally stop playing baby brother to bama u can try to make the playoffs maybe bcuz ou will be there waiting

Two points.
English would help.
NFL talent @ LSU far outsells anything OU puts on the field.
Carry on.

Jeeze kid. Melt harder. Why are you even on our recruiting board to begin with?

We dnt get four and five of the top 50 players every year like Lsu but we're still better than Lsu and have better coaches. ..if we swapped recruiting classes from the past five years ou would have atleast two chips yalls coaches stink at Lsu and coach o will continue right where miles did losing 2 games a year....including bama in that 2 games part
Posted on 1/25/17 at 3:57 pm to markymark918
You make some decent arguments but take into consideration the change of coordinators

Stoops has been there for 17 years and has lost less than 2 games twice. Solid argument.

I'm certain that OU is proud to be associated with your well-written arguments and mastery of the English language.

So back to the Stoops winning every champ game, please explain.
