It probably depends on the player as well, but I haven't seen Bama players elevated the way Matthieu, "the Honey Badger" and Patrick Peterson were.

well, Honey Badger was just on a different level man!

I don't see Bama players get the individual accolades as much

Like I said, PS2 is gonna be a star wherever he goes. My point was just that we sound like homers when we say our guys become stars and their guys don't. Fitzpatrick just won the Thorpe & Bednarik. Last guy to do that was PP7, so their guys reach that level too. To say it doesn't happen makes us look just as homerish as them.

Plus, at Bama you are just a cog in the machine. Here you can achieve superstar status.

Minkah didn't seem to have an issue becoming a superstar.

Landon Collins did Ok for himself as well.

Obviously I want this kid at LSU but that statement is dumb.

I think Saban interviewing surtain Sr has flipped the script. I'm hoping that relationship with Raymond is stronger than daddy interests. More Sr says it's not about me makes me think it is about him. Sr been the one talking while Jr has stayed quiet. We really need Surtain jr in this class.

Hunch. Seen it happen too many times. If he was truly all LSU, as people claim, he’d already be signed and helping LSU recruit. Smoke means fire here to me.

The 2 best defensive players I ever watched play college ball - in person - were Derrick Thomas and Mathieu and I have Mathieu as slightly better.

There has simply never been such a disruptive individual player in college ball - they way Lawrence Taylor disrupted passing offenses in the mid/late 80s in the NFL, Honey Badger did that to the SEC for a couple of years.

Is it just me or is he overrated I saw him getting beat in coverage all year. He was definitely nothing special in our game VS him

He was battling injuries.

We may have a slight advantage in coaching to a very critical, trained, and educated eye (that being Surtain Sr), a slight advantage in being DBU and putting DBs in the NFL (sheer numbers & round taken in) and they have a clear advantage in W/L and Championships.

Comes down to which of those are significant to the recruit and his family.

From that perspective, I say we have an overall slight advantage and I think the reports/rumors are in-line with that.

This is not an update, this is speculation and insecurity. Your title is extremely misleading. We will find out soon enough but GTFOH with this crap

This one, IMO, is going to go like this:
- sometime tonight or tomorrow by lunch, a person with a source is going to claim Bama;
- people on here will nay say, but by Wednesday morning most will think he’s gone with some holding out hope;
- CBs will start rolling in for Bama;
- he’ll commit to Bama Wednesday; and
- by spring his dad will be on staff at Bama.

Wiltfong wrote yesterday it may be getting a little murky

Is he Surtain? Does he live with the Surtains? Did he break bread with them?

If he hasn't declared it's obvious that it's murky. Anything can happen. This is a no lose thing for Shitfong. If he's wrong then he can say it was always LSU and Bama couldn't close. If Surtain chooses Bama then Shitfong can anoint himself the shitz.

We won't know until we know. There is no point in obsessing over it. He will or or he won't.

But everyone here will then say that LSU decided that he was overrated. They will believe that Orgeron scouted a 3 star, that has a much higher ceiling. Then we can all go back to believing that Orgeron has everything under control. He wanted the best OC and landed Ensminger. He wanted a passing game coordinator, so he hired a dinosaur. He wanted a passing game analyst, so he hired a ULL reject. Just sit back and relax, as coach Coonass has it all under control.
