Yeah, I'm starting to think this generation of players are killing the golden goose for future players.

Me too. But college football and the TV networks are operating as if the gravy train can never end and fans will be loyal no matter what.

This has proven to be untrue across multiple sports and entertainment platforms.

It allows players to quit when they have to compere for playing time. Max Johnson and his brother are on their 3rd team. Jeez.

Short term benefit for players. If the fans don't care enough eventually it will be bad for the players.

Its going to take players failing to find better spots post transfer to stem this tide. Like it was said, there's no way even a majority of those kids find themselves in better positions than the one they just left.

Teams success will be more of a reflection of their collective $$$ than coaching and recruiting. The advantage of being in LA is somewhat negated I fear

This is not a good product and not good for college football

The Transfer Portal

A Positive - To right a Wrong Choice (When 17 and 18 years old, we do make bad decisions)

A Negative , Lower Team Chemistry (Transferring to a new team forces the chemistry athletes have with their teammates to disappear)

A Positive , Easier Transfer Process & Immediate Eligibility

A Negative , Loss of Scholarship (No Guarantee of a Landing Spot)

A Positive , If you want a Fresh Start.

A Negative, If you looking to play the Highest Bidder Game.

A Positive , If you want to get Closer to Home because of Family (personal issues)

A Negative , If you lack the Skills to work hard and don't have the patiences it takes to be Coachable and Improve. (Player Development = Talent, Mentally, and Emotionally and Physically)

This Transfer Portal definitely has its ups and downs, But the main Problem it is surrounded by no structure..AND With Government interference from people who don't see a balance view of the situation.

The NCAA really has created this problem. This was done because of its lack of Vision. The NCAA Failure to act on this issues 15 years ago. It's lack of action to have reasonable rules in place for the Player & School. Instead it has decided to kick the Can down the road. This really is a Big Negative for Both Players, Schools and Coaches.

All in All, The transfer portal impacts more than just the individuals who directly use it.

there is one easy fix that can make a major dent in the portal number each year.
Allow only one portal transfer in a career...period! and require that a player sit out the following year, no exceptions.
