I want to believe but the evidence seems really subtle.

Welcome to college recruiting. All recruiting evidence is subtle (or degrees of subtlety) until signing day.

The good news is currently LSU is receiving some good vibes for Watford's services.

I'm amazed at the defensive responses. I asked an honest question about Watford. If one were to go to other sources outside of Louisiana then come on Tigerdroppings, one would reasonably wonder why the optimism. I then asked what other bigs LSU may go after. I read from a poster on this board that Rick Smits son is a graduate transfer prospect.

The only answers I've received appear to be third-hand information, no one claiming direct knowledge, that Watford indicated that he would come here. Others made the unsupported allegations that LSU was the "leader" for Watford before Wade's suspension but they provided no evidence for that assertion and, again, outside of Tigerdroppings there's no evidence that was ever the case.

So, what is your evidence? You guys are obviously sure enough to call me "dense", suspect that I'm "trolling", and oh yes, "sound like a little girl on the playground."

Let me just say that your responses are really odd. One may, perhaps, assume your defensive responses are hiding something, say some of you being trolls (paid or otherwise).

I'm re-reading the responses here, and it's bunch of "well this one poster who seems to be reliable said this" and a bunch of statements that sounds like "well everyone knows we were going to land him before Wade got suspended."

I'm sorry, but your answers and your evidence don't support your optimism. The evidence suggests Watford lands at Memphis. Hardaway is landing a good class and he's a former NBA player with momentum. We don't know yet how much Wade was hurt by the suspension and having his name in the media.

Let me just finish by saying, I really hope we land Watford. Frankly I don't care that you guys can't figure out that I'm asking a simple, honest question of "why are you so confident"?

Easy reply (if truthful) - because I spoke with Watford as part of the administration/coaching staff; the coaches hinted he's a silent commit, etc.

See how easy that is?

Which is probably the closest thing to an accurate answer to my original question. All I'm asking is why the optimism?

Where did this idea come from? Several people on this board said "it's down to Memphis and LSU" and others saying that they're not sure LSU is going to get him away from Memphis, etc.

And national recruiting boards listing Memphis as the lead.

Again, what information are you relying upon?

Anyone else believe Memphis "is not even his second choice"?

Where are you getting your info from? 247? Haha figures. Everyone who actually knows what’s going on knows Memphis wasn’t his second choice

Dawg, multiple people have told you. I’ll give you a current list about why some are optimistic, you can take it how you want.

LSU was a clear front runner about 6 weeks ago before the whole Wade situation went down. Everyone knew he started to trend to LSU, and he was super close with WW. Billy Embody and others put in crystal balls for him awhile back. A couple people on here claimed he was ours. Then the Wade situation occurs and so obviously Watford becomes a clear Memphis guy at this point. Now WW is back, no longer suspended. This happened yesterday when word came out of his reinstatement, Wade has been in contact with Watford through the entire suspension as well. So all of a sudden this morning I beleive 3 new crystal balls have come in for Watford to LSU, this is right after it became clear Wade would be at LSU for the long haul. Then Trendon Watford himself specifically tweets he’s pushing back his commitment date, that is only good news for LSU. Not only that but a few people on here who are typically right have said Watford is ours. This is where optimism is coming from dawg, it’s not just spewing shite out of our asses, it’s legitimate smoke. Also never look at crystal balls, a lot of time that stuff isn’t updated, and not true. Also don’t look at espn articles they have no idea what they are talking about in general, especially when it comes to recruiting. I mean just look at football for example, under players lists they hardly ever even have the school down with which they end up committing too. So now I ask, are you optimistic about Watford coming?

ESPN doesn't even list LSU and 247 only lists LSU as having a 6% chance. I'd love for us to sign Watford but where is the optimism coming from?
