This ^^
Give me Ory Williams, Weston Davis, and 1 of Blake Ivey/Ziron Black and I’d love our OL haul

Nah. They'd have to hit every top target from here out to do that and it's not happening. It's OK to accept that our class is more sun belt than Sun Belt Billy's as some call him. Laughable. Keep on believing we will be OK because our 3 stars are from LA. Never heard such horseshite in my life. 4-5 years from now I could be eating crow but on paper, which is what we have to base conclusions on, our class is lacking. The same guys saying "our guys will get bumps in the rankings" are the ones that argue the recruiting sites hate us when it doesnt happen. Still trying to figure how that works. Maybe its because the rankings are more logical than our hopes are.

You told me LSU wouldn’t finish top 10

Posted on 6/19/23 at 5:08 pm to Captain Crown
The big juco TE more than makes up for this "loss"

Funny that you’re melting over a lack of star power in a thread about losing out on a three star.

Isn’t he the one with the one year ban bet if LSU lands inside the top 10???
I can’t wait to hear all the crickets when this cycle is over. Players will rise and fall and we will end up with big fish like usual. Then all these negative “so called” fans will disappear like so many times before

I'm not melting at all. I'm a realist and the reality is our class is below par from the norm.
Qb-pinned our hopes on a young kid with accuracy issues because Bama rolled us in the Sayin battle(with a fresh OC when it went down)
RB-we missed on our only target
WR-we are reaching for instate kids weve already passed on previously because we cant close top targets.
TE-only spot we landed who we truly wanted. The juco kid counts in '23 so no bearing on this class
OL-Davis does a great job getting in the game but he has to land some of them. Williams is a good start but Mascoli is a loss. He was wanted and not gotten. Loss. Chance to finish well.
DL-reaching for instate kids we previously passed on again. Lindsay gets a pass but the team doesn't. He has to land better guys than we are in true contention for. Better land Mckinley
Edge-Jackson is good if we can get him but lose Simmons and it's a bust because of the effort put in.
LB-good job so far if they stick. Singleton would be a nice finish
CB-no issue with the group overall. Like them all, however, the top guys on the board are still on the board with 4 commits. How many actually believe Mack, Bates, Ferguson or Black are signing on to that many?
S-strong group.
18 commits, among the most in the country, and barely inside the top 10. Things could change obviously but right now it's not a pretty class. Not for the standard we demand. That's the part people are missing when they say its a solid class. Not for a perceived national power it's not. Is the goal to compete with UGA and Bama or Florida and TAM? Hard to compete with elite recruiters when you lack them.

Very well said. Been saying this for awhile. They would have to land all the louisiana guys left, plus players like Simmons and drelon miller to make up for it
As far as receiver, I think lsu will be fine. I actually do believe lsu lands bates and mack at corner.

Thank you! I’ve been screaming that this class is just meh but get downvoted to oblivion. This class is not how you beat the bamas and UGAs of the world. It’s a very disappointing class and we should demand better.

Sounds like I should get hired as I care about this shite 1000000 times more than anyone else.

What a bullshite evaluation of Hurley. Kid did well at the Elite 11 and has plenty of time to develop. Pinning this as a negative is horseshite

A RB would be a luxury this class, not a need

Again, bullshite. Billiot would have gotten an offer with his camp performance no matter what highly ranked WRs were on the board. You may have a point with Turner but the kid has plenty of SEC offers and I would rather have him than play against him

One thing that hurts this class, as far as rankings go, is that at this moment the 247 composite rankings has this as the worst LA class since they were founded. Personally, I don't believe it.
Right now there are 2 top100, 7 top300, and the 10th player (as well as the 9th because it is a tie) is #435. The closest comparison since the 2011 class (247's first), is the 2021 class, which they really didn't evaluate due to covid). It had 4 top100, 9 top300, and the 10th player was #310.
2012 was the only other class with only 2 top100, and every other class had 10+ top300. This class may be weak, but I expect a lot of upward movement overall. Yes, we need to finish with some top prospects, but this class is not as bad as your "realist" view suggests.
