Signing Randle, Mingo (who has been ours all along), Johns, Logan, Singleton, Tahj Jones.
Losing out on Debose (who was a silent commit for quite sometime...just look at Chris Garretts old interview), Campbell, Pratt, and possibly Janzen Jackson.
I would say that is a pretty bad finish. Montgomery and Jarvis Jones are still long shots imo

Along with losing Pratt and possibly Jackson. What if we lose Randle? Is it the best class ever?....We will likely be 3rd this year

I think Slo meant to use the word "thud" instead of "dud" ...cause the class "IS" kind of finishing on a thud (or not very resounding). "Dud" has more of a "useless" connotation.

Then you will agree that LSU will not land Montgomery or Jarvis Jones. LSU finishes with Randle and Mingo. Everyone else LSU signs does not have an offer from an elite school. (Johns, Singleton, Logan, Tahj Jones)
SFPs point is that LSU is expected to keep Randle home. Its not that it isnt a good pickup, its just that we should expect to keep him home. However, losing Janzen and Pratt would be huge

Derby...there was a lot of hype around how we would finish....Debose and Campbell. Neither came to be true. And LSU loses Pratt and possibly Jackson...do you not see his point?

Honestly, part of the perception that this class is ending with a thud instead of a bang is the fact that we got so many early commitments. Things have been sort of quiet and many people got a little too excited about some prospects that they should have been much, much more pessimistic about.
Hell, if news would just be surfacing about Shepard, Davenport, Loston, or Jackson committing to LSU, we'd be talking about how this is the most exciting end to an LSU class ever. If LSU finishes with Randle, Mingo, and Montgomery, I would be inclined to call it potentially the best ever at LSU.
However, I would have liked need to be addressed a little more in this class. I like the additions of Faulk, Lowe, and Ainsworth, but Lowe and Ainsworth are both likely interior linemen, and we'll be thin at OT in the future. Also, I would have loved to have gotten another LB prospect who was ready to go (ala Minter) and not really a project.
Regardless... it's an excellent class.
